Alison Maurer,
of the women’s track & field team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete
of the Week. Maurer earned All-America honors, placing fourth in the hammer
throw at the NCAA Division II Championships at Emporia (KS) State. Maurer’s
throw of 180-1 established a personal best in the event. |

Xiomera Marin, of the women’s
soccer team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. Marin made her collegiate debut a memorable one, scoring
the game-winning goal in the second overtime against Division II
power Adelphi.
9/6 Austin
Kinney, of the
volleyball team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week.
Kinney, a setter, led the Golden Bears to a perfect 3-0 record at the Kutztown
Classic over the weekend. She averaged 12.4 assists per game, and had 10 service
aces and 38 digs in the three matches. She was named the most valuable
player of the Classic.

Kelley Healey,
of the field hockey team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. In KU’s 4-0 week, Healey had six goals and six assists. She
had school record-tying four goals and two assists in an 11-0 win over
Philadelphia. She added a goal and an assist in KU’s 5-2 PSAC win over
Mansfield.
9/19 Marc Benson,
of the men’s soccer team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. Benson scored three goals in Kutztown’s 1-0-1 week. He had the
game-winning goal late in KU’s 2-1 win at Bloomsburg. In a 3-3 tie vs.
Slippery Rock, Benson scored two goals, including the tying and go-ahead goal in
the second half, before SRU came back to tie the score.

Trista Hershey,
of the field hockey team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. The goalkeeper led KU to a 3-0 week, including a pair of shutouts
against Slippery Rock and Mercyhurst. She allowed just one goal and had 18
saves in 210 minutes of action in goal.

Kerstin Kloeffer, of the women’s tennis team, is this week’s
KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Kloeffer became the
first KU women’s tennis player to win the ITA East Regional singles
title when she defeated teammate Magaly Peter in the finals.
She advances to the ITA Small College Championship in Florida.

Ashley Smith, of the women’s
soccer team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. Smith scored two goals against Shippensburg to give KU
the win. She also assisted on the insurance goal against East
Stroudsburg.

Julie Karaszkiewicz,
of the women’s cross country team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete
of the Week. Karaszkiewicz led Kutztown to the team title at the DeSales
Invitational, placing second overall with a time of 24:53 on the 6K course.

the Week. Healey had six goals and an assist in Kutztown’s 3-1
week. In a 2-1 loss to IUP, Healey assisted KU's only goal.
She had a goal in the win over Slippery Rock, two goals in a win at
East Stroudsburg and a hat trick in the win at Millersville.
10/31 Joanna Horstmann,
of the women’s cross country team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete
of the Week. Horstmann led the Golden Bears to a third-place team finish
at the PSAC Championships on Saturday. She placed sixth on the 6K course
with a time of 22:48 to earn All-PSAC honors. Horstmann was the top
freshman finisher in the race.

Julie Karaszkiewicz, of the women’s cross country team, is
this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week.
Karaszkiewicz led Kutztown to a third-place finish at the NCAA East
Regional Championship and a berth in the NCAA National Championship.
She placed 11th with a time of 22:20 on the 6K race to earn
All-Region honors.

Scott Arnold, of the men’s
swimming team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. Arnold was a member of the 200 medley and 200 free
relays teams that were victorious over Edinboro. Arnold also won two
individual events, the 100 and 200 fly, in 56.59 and 2:08.44.

Jess Brady, of the women’s basketball team, is this week’s
KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Brady scored 47
points in the team’s first three games of the season, (15.7/game).
She also leads the team with 31 rebounds (10.3/game). She was named
MVP of the Golden Bear Classic where KU was 2-0.

Ben Arnold, of
the men’s basketball team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore
Athlete of the Week. Arnold scored a career high 19 points and
had a career high 19 rebounds in the team's first win of the season
against Wilmington.

Ryan Wasser, of the wrestling team, is this week’s KU Student
Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Wasser was Kutztown’s top wrestler at
the Penn State Open this weekend, finishing in fourth place at 174
in the Division I dominated event.
12/12 Bruce Hall,
of the men’s basketball team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore
Athlete of the Week. Hall led the men’s basketball team in scoring
against Columbia Union with 24 points and against Penn
State-Hazleton with 25.

Bruce Hall, of the men’s basketball team, is this week’s KU
Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Hall led the team in
scoring with 54 points in three wins. He notched 18 against Indiana
(PA) and 22 against Lock Haven. He also scored 14 points in the win
over Penn-State-Abington.

Lara Dellegrotti,
of the women’s basketball team, is this week’s KU Student
Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Dellegrotti scored 19 points,
including a trio of three pointers and a perfect 8-of-8 from the
free throw line, in Kutztown’s 69-65 win over Clarion on Saturday.

David Ben, of the men’s basketball team, is this week’s KU
Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Ben scored 71 points
including a career high, 26, against Edinboro. He hit 10-of-14 field
goals and was 5-5 from the line. Against Cheyney, Ben hit four
three-pointers en route to his 21 points. He topped off his
performance with 24 points against Slippery Rock.
1/24 Ryan
Wasser,
of the wrestling team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete
of the Week. Wasser went 4-0 this weekend at the East Coast
Duals at Shippensburg. Wasser had a pin and a technical fall
in his decisions.

Trish Dudeck,
of the women’s basketball team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore
Athlete of the Week. Dudeck scored a career high 24 points
against West Chester. She scored a total of 35 points in two crucial
wins over West Chester and Mansfield. She also pulled in 19
rebounds.

Bruce Hall, of the men’s basketball team,
is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Hall scored 23
points at Millersville and 25 points against East Stroudsburg as KU went 2-0 in
PSAC East play last week.

Alison Maurer, of the track
and field team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. Maurer had a NCAA provisional and PSAC best 53-0
in the 25-lbs weight throw at the PSAC East Challenge.

Ashley Singer, of the women’s
swimming team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. Singer set school records in the 200 (1:55.72) and 500
(5:09.20) free at the PSAC Championships this weekend. Singer
was also a part of the 800 free relay team that set another new
school record (7:55.15).

Renee Marchand, of the track
and field team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. Marchand set a school record in the pentathlon with
3,396 points at the PSAC Championships. She also placed third in the
high jump (5-5) and ran the third leg of the second place 4x400
relay team, which finished in 4:00.04.

Mercedes Van Wagner, of the
women’s basketball team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete
of the Week. Van Wagner scored 25 points and pulled in 13
rebounds in KU’s win over East Stroudsburg in the PSAC
quarterfinals. She added five points and seven boards against
Edinboro in the PSAC semifinals.

Mike McCardell,
of the baseball team, is this
week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week. McCaredell picked
up four saves in ten innings pitched. H was 10-for-20, scoring six
runs, eight RBI and hitting three home runs.

Rachel Weidensaul,
of the softball team, is this
week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Weidensaul went
5-0 with a 2.33 ERA in 18 innings pitched. She also had 11
strikeouts.

Mike McCardell, of the baseball team,
is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the Week. He was
1-0 with two saves, a 3.00 ERA (3 ER) and 13 strikeouts over 9.0
innings and three appearances last week. He had a complete-game win
over East Stroudsburg, and had saves vs. Adelphi and East
Stroudsburg. The saves were McCardell’s 7th and 8th this season,
tying Kutztown's single-season record. He also batted .538 at the
plate (7-for-13) with three runs, two doubles and five RBI.

Steve Tyson, of the men’s
indoor track & field team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore
Athlete of the Week. Tyson led Kutztown to the team title at the
PSAC East Challenge, winning two events and placing second in a
third. Tyson won the shot put (51-9) and discus (139-4), while
placing second in the hammer (136-9). KU finished 25.5 points ahead
of second-place Lock Haven.
4/17
Harsh Sharma, of the men’s
tennis team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. Sharma led Kutztown to a 3-0 week, including
three-straight 9-0 wins over PSAC foes. Sharma was 3-0 in
singles action, playing two matches at #1 seed and one at #2, and
was 3-0 in doubles matches, playing twice at #1 seed and once at #2.
4/24 Lukas Labitsch, of
the men’s tennis team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete
of the Week. Labitsch led the Golden Bears to their third-straight
PSAC Championship with wins over Slippery Rock and Millersville.
Labistch, who was named the tournament’s most valuable player, won
all four of the matches he played during the tournament, winning at
#2 singles and #1 doubles against SRU and #3 singles and #1 doubles
against Millersville.

Mike McCardell, of the
baseball team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. McCardell was 2-0 with a 0.00 earned-run average in two
appearances for the Golden Bears. McCardell pitched a three-hit
shutout as KU defeated Mansfield, 1-0. He then tossed four innings
in relief, allowing two hits and one unearned run vs. Millersville.
He had 16 strikeouts on the week.
5/8 Mike McCardell, of
the baseball team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of
the Week. McCardell led Kutztown to the PSAC Championship, hitting
.529 (9-of-17) with six runs, five doubles and three RBI. He also
saved three of KU’s four wins in the tournament.
5/15 Krista Cameron, of the
softball team, is this week’s KU Student Bookstore Athlete of the
Week. Cameron hit .500 (3-for-6) with two RBI in KU’s two games at
the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional. She hit her 10th home run of the
season against Millersville.
5/26

Bookstore Athlete of the Week. Maurer earned All-America honors,
placing fourth in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division II
Championships at Emporia (KS) State. Maurer’s throw of 180-1
