- Kutztown erupted for eight runs in the third inning, then held on
for an 8-6 win over Bloomsburg in the first game of a PSAC East
doubleheader.

RBI single in the first inning, as KU took a 2-0 lead.
Costello's
two-run single in the second made it 4-0.

2-for-4 with two RBI.
Fink,

Stricker each
scored two runs, while
Chad Lightcap (fr.

pitched the
first five innings, allowing five hits and five runs with six
strikeouts for his fourth win.
FRI 4/21 —
MANSFIELD 2, KUTZTOWN 1
- Mansfield struck for two runs in the top of the sixth inning and
held on for the 2-1 win over Kutztown in the first game of a PSAC
East doubleheader. The Mounties took advantage of a KU error to
score its runs. In the bottom of the sixth,
Loper belted a
two-out homer to cut the lead in half, but KU couldn't manufacture
the tying run. KU was held to just six hits by six different
batters.
Matt
Maradeo (sr.
Nesquehoning/Panther Valley)
(5-3) was the losing pitcher, despite allowing just six hits and one
earned run over six innings. He struck out six.
KUTZTOWN 5, MANSFIELD 0

Bill
Loskiewicz (sr.
Philadelphia/Nuemann-Garretti)
pitched a five
hit shut-out en route to his third win on the season as Kutztown
salvaged a split, beating Mansfield, 5-0 in game two.
Loskiewicz
pitched seven scoreless innings while striking out eight.
Kranz hit a
triple to start the third inning and scored on a
Dierolf
grounder.
Dierolf reached
base after the shortstop bobbled the ball and ended up scoring on a
sacrifice fly by
Jeff
Craig. Kutztown
put three more runs on the board in the fourth inning.
Kranz was
2-for-2.

second with 356. Gettysburg finished third, 398, Dickinson fourth,
417, and Muhlenberg fifth, 426.

GOLDEN BEAR INVITATIONAL — 5th/6
– Kutztown finished fifth out of six in the Golden Bear Invitational
held at the 5,824 yards, par 74 Berkleigh Country Club in Kutztown,
PA. The invitational lasted one round due to inclement weather on
the second day. Leading the pack was Mount St. Mary’s, shooting
355. California (PA) and Lehigh were second shooting 357. Wagner
was fourth, 366, Kutztown fifth, 371, and McDaniel sixth, 391.
Shubilla
tied for fifth to lead the
Golden Bears, shooting 88.
Adams
shot a 90 (t-12).
Foulke
shot 94 (t-19) and
Suzenski
recorded a 99 (24).

- Kutztown scored three runs in the third inning to beat East
Stroudsburg, 6-3, in game one of the PSAC East doubleheader.

pitched the complete game, striking out five, for her ninth win of
the season.

home runs for KU.
Adriane

went 2-for-3 with a double.
Fitzgerald was

Kutztown 11, East Stroudsburg 3
- Kutztown completed the sweep of ESU with an 11-3 win in game two.
Stephanie Denlinger
hit her 13th homer of
the season, passing Kellie Evans (2002) and Jen Schock (1995) for
KU's single-season record. She went 3-for-5 in the game, adding a
double to her home run.
Weidensaul
started the game, pitching three innings and striking out two.
Stephanie
Denlinger came
in the fourth inning for relief and her second win of the season,
striking out three.
Cameron was
3-for-4 with a home run.
Fitzgerald was
3-for-5 with a double.

at Concordia (NY). KU took a 2-1 lead after doubles, as

Bruck an der Mur, AUSTRIA) won
at first doubles, 8-6, and
Santiago Baquerizo
(fr. Guayaquil, ECUADOR)and

won second doubles, 8-4. Concordia,
however, won four of six singles seeds to pull out the team win.

- Kutztown cruised to an 8-0 win over Slippery Rock in a PSAC men's
tennis semifinal. Kutztown swept the doubles matches, with

Labitsch winning #1, 8-1,

Baquerizo
winning #2, 8-3, and
Jose
Castro

Guayaquil, ECUADOR) and
Rubens
Vianna

8-4. KU won the first and second matches, as well as the
fourth-through-sixth singles.

Kutztown 5, Millersville 0 -
Kutztown won its third-straight Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference men's tennis championship with a 5-0 win over
Millersville. Kutztown jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles,
picking up victories from
Sharma
and
Labitsch, 8-3,
at first doubles,
Baquerizo
and
Castro,
8-2, at second doubles, and
Beman
and
Somdeep Appineni
(jr. Hyderabad, INDIA),
8-0, at third doubles. In
singles, KU needed just two points to finish off the match, getting
those points from
Labitsch
at third singles, 6-2, 6-1, and
Vianna
at fifth singles, 6-2, 6-0. Both won
in straight sets. The other four singles matches were not finished
after KU recorded the decisive team points.
Labitsch
was named the tournament's most valuable player, after winning both
his singles and doubles matches.

winning 8-4. The Golden Bears came back and won 1-through-5 singles
to take the match.

- Kutztown's hopes for a PSAC title came to an end with a tough 5-4
loss to California (PA) in a semifinal match. California took a 2-1
lead after doubles, winning #1 and #3. KU's sole doubles point came
from the team of

and Nansi
at second doubles, 8-3. The teams then split the singles matches,
with KU winning #2, #3 and #6.
Peter
won in three sets at #2, 6-1, 2-6, 6-0, while
Pachkawde
won at #3, 6-1, 6-4, and
Kristen Bodalski
(sr. Media/Cardinal O’Hara)
won at #6, 7-5, 6-2.

East Stroudsburg to compete in the East Stroudsburg/Lafayette
Invitational. Highlights for the KU women were:
Laura Kline (sr. eading/Reading)
set a new KU record in the 400 meter hurdles, placing second in a
time of 1:02.07. The time is also a NCAA provisional time.
Renee Marchand (jr.
Hawley/Wallenpaupack)
placed first in the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.86.
Jaci
Pfeiffer (sr.

NJ/Hillsborough)
was second in 16.16.
Marchand ran the
third leg and
Kline ran anchor
