Slippery Rock 2, Kutztown 0
- Slippery Rock scored a goal in each half to defeat Kutztown, 2-0,
in the 2006 season opener for both men's soccer teams. Slippery
Rock got on the board in the 22nd minute. Slippery Rock sealed the
victory in the second half with a goal in the 57th minute. Kutztown
had eight shots in the game versus Slippery Rocks 15.
Ryan
Kratz (jr. Boyertown/Boyertown)
had four saves in net for the Golden Bears.
SAT 8/26 —
Shippensburg 4, Kutztown 0
- Shippensburg scored three
goals in the first half and never looked back, defeating Kutztown
4-0. The Red Raiders out shot Kutztown 24-10 on the afternoon.

Slippery Rock 3, Kutztown 0 -
The Kutztown
University women's soccer team opened its 2006 season with a 3-0
loss at Slippery Rock. The Rock scored the first goal at the 41:15
mark for a 1-0 lead at half time. Slippery Rock came out and scored
two more goals in the second half for the 3-0 win. The Golden Bear
goalkeeper,
Nicole Rodweller (sr. Easton/Easton),
had seven saves. KU managed 11 shots while the Rock had 16.
SAT 8/26 —
Kutztown 3, Shippensburg 0
- Kutztown picked up its first win of the 2006 season with a 3-0
victory at Shippensburg.
Angela Corrado (fr.
Kutztown/Kutztown)
notched her first collegiate goal at the 28:02 mark to put KU on the
board. At the 36:39 mark,
Kim
Kelty (jr.
Levittown/Neshaminy)
made it 2-0.
The score stayed that way until
Cheyenne Brunner (so.
Sunbury/Shikellamy)
stretched the advantage to 3-0 at the 60:18 mark. Raven
Chiara(fr. Jamesburg, NJ/Monroe Twp.),
Jackie Toutkoushian (so. Doylestown/Central Bucks East) and Diana

assisted the goals.
