THU 8/24 — Slippery Rock 2, Kutztown 0 - Slippery Rock scored a goal in each half to defeat Kutztown, 2-0, in the 2006 season opener for both men's soccer teams.  Slippery Rock got on the board in the 22nd minute.  Slippery Rock sealed the victory in the second half with a goal in the 57th minute.  Kutztown had eight shots in the game versus Slippery Rocks 15.  Ryan Kratz (jr. Boyertown/Boyertown) had four saves in net for the Golden Bears.

SAT 8/26 — Shippensburg 4, Kutztown 0 - Shippensburg scored three goals in the first half and never looked back, defeating Kutztown 4-0.  The Red Raiders out shot Kutztown 24-10 on the afternoon.

WED 8/24 — Slippery Rock 3, Kutztown 0 - The Kutztown University women's soccer team opened its 2006 season with a 3-0 loss at Slippery Rock.  The Rock scored the first goal at the 41:15 mark for a 1-0 lead at half time.  Slippery Rock came out and scored two more goals in the second half for the 3-0 win.  The Golden Bear goalkeeper, Nicole Rodweller (sr. Easton/Easton), had seven saves.  KU managed 11 shots while the Rock had 16.

SAT 8/26 — Kutztown 3, Shippensburg 0 - Kutztown picked up its first win of the 2006 season with a 3-0 victory at Shippensburg.  Angela Corrado (fr. Kutztown/Kutztown) notched her first collegiate goal at the 28:02 mark to put KU on the board.  At the 36:39 mark, Kim Kelty (jr. Levittown/Neshaminy) made it 2-0.  The score stayed that way until Cheyenne Brunner (so. Sunbury/Shikellamy) stretched the advantage to 3-0 at the 60:18 mark.  Raven Chiara(fr. Jamesburg, NJ/Monroe Twp.), Jackie Toutkoushian (so. Doylestown/Central Bucks East) and Diana Hopper (fr. New York, NY/Ramapo (NJ)) assisted the goals.  The scoring was more than enough for goalkeeper Rodweller, who needed just three saves to record the shutout in the net.

FRI 8/25 — Kutztown 3, Pace 0 – KU opened the 2006 season with a 3-0 win over Pace University.  The game scores were 30-19, 30-16, 30-10.  Sarah Brandon (sr. Gibsonia/Pine-Richland) led Kutztown with 11 kills and four blocks.  Kimberly Cifuni (jr. Springfield/Springfield) added eight kills, while Shelby Bunting (sr. Green Lane/Pennridge) and Tara Galloway (jr. Nazareth/Nazareth) added seven kills apiece.  Krystalee George (sr. Wescosville/Emmaus) notched three blocks.  Setter Austin Kinney (so. Landisville/Hempfield) dished out 31 assists and had 14 digs, while Dani Witherite (sr. PA Furnace/State College) added 16 digs

SAT 8/26 — Kutztown 3, Nyack 0 - KU defeated Nyack, with game scores of 30-14, 30-10 and 30-10.  Brittany Hoke (so. Chadds Ford/Unionville) had 12 kills to lead Kutztown.   Kinney dished out 19 assists and had eight service aces and six digs.  Brandon added eight kills.

Kutztown 3, Dowling 0 - KU defeated nationally ranked (#25)Dowling by the game scores of 30-21, 30-26 and 30-17.  Brandon had 18 kills and 14 digs, while Witherite notched 10 kills and nine digs.  Nicole Biuso (jr. Centereach, NY/Ward Melville) had 17 digs, while Bunting had six kills and five blocks.  Kinney recorded 38 assists and 11 digs.
