       WED 9/13 — KUTZTOWN 9, SLIPPERY ROCK 0 - Four players scored two goals as Kutztown cruised to a 9-0 win over Slippery Rock.  Kelley Healey (so. Toms River, NJ/Toms River North), Lindsey Bozarth (so. Collingswood, NJ/Collingswood), Lyndsay Butler (so. Annandale, NJ/Summit) and Heather Hoxter (jr. Parkesburg/Octorara) scored twice each.  Mandi Turner (sr. Sumneytown/Upper Perkiomen) had the other goal for KU.  Jennifer Belfatti (so. Hatfield/Lansdale Catholic) notched an assist.  Sam Flowers (jr. Souderton/Souderton) stopped four shots to record her first shutout of the season.

SAT 9/16 — MANSFIELD 1, KUTZTOWN 0 (OT) - Even though Kutztown had 31 shots in the game, it could not get past Mansfield and fell in overtime, 1-0.  It was a goalie’s battle, as Flowers made 12 saves in net for Kutztown and Brianne DeLuca made 11 saves in the cage for Mansfield.  Mansfield broke the scoreless game at the 7:26 into overtime for the 1-0 win.

Last Week’s Action

WED 9/13 — Lock Haven 4, Kutztown 0 - Lock Haven defeated Kutztown, 4-0.  The Bald Eagles scored two goals in each half.  Ryan Kratz (jr. Boyertown/Boyertown) had 11 saves for KU, which was out shot 28-2 in the contest.

SAT 9/16 — KUTZTOWN 1, MILLERSVILLE 0 - Kutztown needed only one goal to defeat Millersville, 1-0.  Mike Choiniere (fr. Boyertown/Boyertown) scored off a pass from Charlie Kulp (so. State College/State College) in the 21st minute to give the Golden Bears the 1-0 lead.  Millersville tried to battle back, but Kratz made five saves in net for the shutout victory.

WED 9/13 — BRIDGEPORT 2, KUTZTOWN 0 - Bridgeport scored two goals less than two minutes apart to lead the Purple Knights to a 2-0 win over Kutztown.  Kutztown managed just four shots in the game.  Kutztown keeper Nicole Rodweller (sr. Easton/Easton) had five saves. 

SAT  9/16— MILLERSVILLE 1, KUTZTOWN 0 - Millersville scored in the 41st minute and would not let KU in the game, winning 1-0.  Despite out shooting Millersville 13-3, Kutztown could not get the ball past the MU goalie, who made 13 saves in net.  Rodweller made one save for the Golden Bears.

TUE 9/12 — KUTZTOWN 3, MILLERSVILLE 0 - Kutztown cruised over Millersville in three games.  Game scores were 30-25, 30-21, 30-19.  Sarah Brandon (sr. Gibsonia/Pine-Richland) led the Golden Bears with 14 kills.  She added seven blocks.  Nicole Buiso (jr. Centereach, NY/Ward Melville) notched 21 digs while Dani Witherite (sr. PA Furnace/State College) added 17 digs and 11 kills.  Kim Cifuni (jr. Springfield/Springfield) added 11 kills of her own, along with eight digs.  Austin Kinney (so. Landisville/Hempfield) dished out 38 assists and 14 digs.

SAT 9/16 — KUTZTOWN 3, SHIPPENSBURG 1 - Kutztown used a balance attack to defeat Shippensburg in four games, 30-21, 18-30, 30-18, 30-22.  Biuso led KU with 21 digs.  Witherite had 20 digs, 11 kills and two service aces.  She has tied KU’s record for service aces with 129.  Brandon chipped in with 12 kills and 10 blocks.  Krys George (sr. Wescosville/Emmaus) also had 10 blocks.  Ashlie Molloy (so. Allentown/Parkland) dished out 22 assists and Amanda Schoemaker (so. Macungie/Emmaus) had 13.  Head coach John Gump won his 400th career match.  His record overall is 400-215 with a record of 189-102 at Kutztown.
