men’s team placed ninth out of 14 at the Lafayette Invitational.
The top runner for KU in the 5 mile run was
Pat Bone (jr.
Preasville/Central Bucks West).
Bone finished 33rd with a time of 26:49.
Joe
Haughey
(sr. Richboro/Council Rock South)
was the Golden Bears second finishers with a time of 27:10 for
42nd. In 43rd
place was
Dan Wilde (sr. New Cumberland/Cedar Cliff)
with a time of 27:11 .
Pat Coyne (sr.
Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan)
finished 64th (27:30) and
Tony Skiles (so.
West Reading/Wyomissing)
placed 79th (27:59).

The women placed fourth out of 13 against all Division I opponents
at the Lafayette Invitational. The top runner KU was
Stephanie Williams
(jr.
Harrisburg/Riverside). She
finished fifth overall in the pool of 134 runners. Her time on the
6K course was 20:59.
Cheryl Dingman
(so. Lansdale/North Penn) was
the Golden Bear’s second finisher with a time of 21:33, for 18th.
In 22nd was
Joanna Horstmann
(so. Downingtown/Downingtown West)
with a time of 21:44.
Desiree Bower
(sr. Bethel/Tulpehocken)
finished in 26th (22:00). Rounding out the top seven were

Kutztown 3, Mansfield 2

Jennifer Belfatti (so.

Catholic) scored
the decisive goal in the shootout to lead Kutztown to a thrilling
3-2 win over Mansfield. The game was tied 2-2 at the end of
regulation. After two scoreless overtime periods, the game went to
a shootout.

put KU ahead 2-0
after the first two rounds of the shootout.

then sealed it in the third round with a goal. KU goalkeeper

was stellar in the cage, stopping all three Mansfield shots in the
shootout. She finished with nine saves. Mansfield led 1-0 8:22
into the game before

tied it at 1-1 with an unassisted goal at the 29:53 mark. Shortly
after halftime, MU again took the lead, but
Lindsey Bozarth
knotted it at the 42:02 point.
SAT 10/14 —
BLOOMSBURG 3, KUTZTOWN 1
- Bloomsburg defeated Kutztown, 3-1. Bloomsburg scored the only
goal in the first half at the 10 minute mark. Kutztown came back 48
seconds into the second half when
Laura Belfatti
scored. Bloomsburg then answered with two goals at the 44th and
61st minute to seal the victory.
Flowers had 16
saves in net for the Golden Bears.

10/15 — at PSAC Championships - 7th/8:
Kutztown finished 7th of eight teams
at the PSAC Championships at Wrendale Golf Course. Kutztown, one of
three women's teams in the field, finished second among the women's
teams with a two day score of 669, setting a school record for 36
holes on a par 72 course. The previous record was a 674 set at the
2004 PSAC Championships. California (PA) was the top women’s team,
with a two day score of 632. West Chester, 755, is the other
women's team. West Chester's men's squad won the championship with
a score of 603, followed by IUP (605) and Millersville (611).
Lauren
Foulke (so. Kempton/Kutztown)
finished 22nd out of 40 golfers with a two day total of 78-80-158 on
the par 72, 5,800 yard course. Her score broke the school record
for 36 holes on a par 72 course, bettering the previous mark of 162,
set by Jessica May at the 2003 PSAC Championships.
Holly Shubilla
(sr.
Wilkes-Barre/GAR Memorial)
tied for 30th (82-81-169), while
Angie Petak
(jr.
Brockway/Brockway) (86-84-170)
was 32nd.
Tristin Suzenski (sr. Pottstown/St. Pius X)

Haven scored three goals in each half to secure a 6-0 win over
Kutztown.
Ryan Kratz (jr. Boyertown/Boyertown)
made seven saves in net for the Golden Bears.
SAT 10/14 —
Millersville 3, Kutztown 0 -
Millersville scored three goals in the second half to defeat
Kutztown, 3-0. The two teams played to a 0-0 tie in the first
half. Millersville came out strong in the second half and scored in
the 67th, 83rd and 89th minute.
Kratz
had two saves in net for the Golden Bears. Kutztown had eight shots
while Millersville had seven.

games to decide a winner, but California (PA) pulled out the match,
3-2, over Kutztown. Game scores were 29-31, 30-26, 30-27, 24-30,
15-13.

blocks.
