– KU rallied in the seventh inning and defeated Bloomsburg in
the eighth, 3-2. Trailing 2-1,
Loper
started the bottom of the seventh with a double.
Jason Mills (sr.

Penn) hit a
sac fly to score
Loper and
tie the game. Kutztown won the game on a
Loper single
to score
Bond in the
eighth.
Loper’s
single was his 200th career hit. The game was also his 200th,
making him the second KU baseball player to reach 200 games and
200 hits (Al Fitch, 2000-03).
Justin
Jachowicz (jr.
Summit
Hill/Panther Valley)
pitched 2.2 innings in relief for the win.
Darin
Gorski (fr.
Mount
Joy/Donegal)
started the game, going 5.1 innings.
KUTZTOWN 7, BLOOMSBURG 6
- KU scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to
win 7-6 over Bloomsburg.
Loper
singled and scored on a
Kranz
double.

tie the score. Bloomsburg then intentionally walked

Kutztown 5, Bloomsburg 0 (8 inn.)
– Kutztown defeated Bloomsburg 5-0 in extra innings. KU pitcher
Mills and BU
pitcher Grant Kergnaghan took shutouts into extra innings. In
the KU eighth,
Kulbacki and
Bond started
with back-to-back singles.
Kranz
attempted to bunt the runners over and ended up on first after
an error by the Bloomsburg pitcher.
Rausch also
reached on an error by the first baseman that allowed
Kulbacki and
Bond to
score.
Craig then
hit a three-run homer to give KU the 5-0 lead.
Mills
completed the shutout, finishing off Bloom in the bottom of the
eighth. He struck out six for the win.
Rausch was
2-for-3 with a run scored.
Craig went
1-for-3 with a three-run home run.
Kutztown 5, Bloomsburg 3
- The Golden Bears completed the sweep of Bloomsburg, 5-3, and
earned their first PSAC East crown since 2001. KU scored three
runs in the first inning. Bloom cut the lead to 3-2 in the
second, but a run in the sixth and one in the seventh sealed the
game and the title.
McCardell
pitched all seven innings, striking out seven for the win.
Kranz went
4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Lightcap was
2-for-3 and scored a run.
Bucklin was
2-for-3 with two RBI.
SUN 4/22 —
Kutztown 10, Wilmington (DE) 5
– Kutztown defeated Wilmington, 10-5.
McCardell
hit a two-run home run in the first to start the Golden Bears.
Philip
Rummel (jr.
Exeter/West-Mont Christian)
went five innings for the win.
Bond went
2-for-3 and scored two runs.
Kranz was
2-for-3 with four RBI and a run scored.
McCardell
was 1-for-1 with a two-run homer and

finished 3-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Kutztown 6, Wilmington (DE) 2

Keller (sr. Fleetwood/Fleetwood)
pitched a complete game in the 6-2 victory over Wilmington. He
struck out 10 while walking only one.
Rausch hit a
three-run shot in the sixth inning to give KU the 6-2
advantage.
McCardell
was 2-for-4 and scored a run,
Loper went
2-for-4 with two runs scored and
Rausch was
2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBI.
Kutztown is in the
midst of a nine-game winning streak. The Golden Bears have won
22 of the previous 23 games.

– The Golden Bears came in fourth at the Kutztown Spring
Invitational. St. Francis (PA) won with a score of 339-329-668
at the Berkleigh Country Club. Lehigh shot a 339-335-674 team
score on the par 74, 5,827 course to finish second. Allegheny
finished third (350-340-690). Kutztown placed fourth
(346-346-692), followed by Muhlenberg (374-392-766) and West
Chester (412-408-820). For the hosts,
Lauren Foulke (so. Kempton/Kutztown)
tied for fourth with an 85-84-169.
Holly
Shubilla (sr. Wilkes-Barre/GAR Memorial)
(88-85-173)
and
Bethany Adams

Kutztown jumped out to an early lead sweeping the three doubles
points.

SAT 4/21 —
Kutztown 5, Millersville 0
- Kutztown won its fourth-straight PSAC Championship, defeating
Millersville, 5-0. Kutztown has now won or shared seven of the
last eight PSAC titles.
Beman was
named the tournament's most valuable player. The Golden Bears
swept the three doubles matches.
Baquerizo
and
Labitsch won
8-2 at first doubles.
Beman teamed
with
Vianna to
down their opponents, 8-3, at #2. At third doubles,
Appineni and
Gruss won,
8-0. KU's seniors brought it home in singles.
Beman flew
past his opponent at #4 singles, 6-0, 6-1.
Appineni
won, 6-1, 6-0, at fifth singles.

hit two home runs as KU defeated ESU 7-0. With four hits on
the afternoon,

set a KU record for most hits in a season with 75, passing Marcy
Lieb, who had 73 in 1995. Kutztown hit three total home runs in
the twinbill, upping its team total to 57 on the season, a
school record.
Cameron’s
first home run, a grand slam, came in the first inning.
Cameron
belted a three-run shot in the third inning for her second homer
of the game.
Cameron
finished 2-for-3 with all seven of the game’s RBI.
Willmer
went 3-for-4.
Kaitlin
Arbogast (fr. Ambler/Wissahickon)
pitched six innings and struck out 13 batters.

from behind to defeat ESU, 6-5.

hit her 21st home run of the
season to start the third inning. Kutztown took the lead in the
fifth inning.

hit a double to left field. A
sacrifice bunt by
Willmer
knocked
Bennett
home.
Denlinger went 2-for-2,
scoring two runs and walking twice.
Ashley

was 2-for-2 with two RBI.

4, SHIPPENSBURG 2 – The
Golden Bears defeated Shippensburg, 4-2. KU took the lead in
the sixth inning when
Cameron
belted a two-run homer to right field.
Arbogast
pitched the complete game, striking out five.
Arbogast
tied the KU record for complete games in a season with 22.
Tiffany Mattiuz had 22 complete games in 1996.
Willmer
was 1-for-3 with two RBI.
KUTZTOWN 9,
SHIPPENSBURG 3 – Kutztown
clinched a PSAC playoff berth with a 9-3 win over Shippensburg.
KU sealed the game with three runs in the sixth.
Weidensaul
pitched 5+ innings for the win.
Arbogast
pitched two innings for the save.
Denlinger
finished 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored.
Kim
Morrison (so. Newmarket, ONT/Sir William Mulock)
was 3-for-3 with two RBI and scored three runs. Kutztown's 18
hits on the afternoon put its season total at 468, a KU record.
The previous record was 455 in 1995.
Kutztown currently is on a
17-game winning-streak, a KU record. Previously, the record was
11 games, set back in 1994.
