FRI 9/28 - Women 21st at Paul Short Invitational —
Joanna Horstmann (jr. Downingtown/Downingtown West)
led Kutztown to a
21st-place finish in the championship race at the prestigious Paul
Short Run at Lehigh University. KU was the highest finishing
Division II team in the championship race, which featured Division I
teams and ranked Division II and III squads. The Golden Bears are
ranked No. 13 in Division II.
Horstmann ran a
time of 21:56, KU's fastest time ever at Lehigh's 6K course,
breaking Megan Seefeldt's 2001 time of 22:04.
Horstmann
finished 59th overall.
Kristin Cupido (fr. Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan Reg.)
placed 117th with
a time of 22:44, the fastest time at Lehigh for a KU freshman.
Stephanie Williams (sr. Harrisburg/Riverside)
placed 145th (23:01),
followed by
Hailey Dell (jr. Saranac Lake, N.Y./Saranac Lake)
(172nd, 23:22) and
Maureen Watson (so. Walnutport/Allentown Central Catholic)
(176th, 23:24).
Rounding out KU's top seven were

FRI 9/28 - Men 6th at Paul Short Invitational —
KU's men were sixth in
the men's White race at the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University. In
the White race, which consists of unranked Division II and III
teams, KU placed sixth with 247 points, second among Division II
teams.

led KU with a time of
26:45 for a 30th place finish on the 8K course.
Tom
Mooney (fr. Churchville/Council Rock South)
finished with a time of
26:48 for 35th place.

No. 1 team in Division II earlier in the day on Tuesday, suffered
its first loss of the season to Bloomsburg, which is ranked No. 2.

SAT 9/29 - KU 2, Shippensburg 1 —
Heather Hoxter (sr. Glenmore/Octorara)
scored the game-winning
goal with 3:03 left as KU defeated No. 6 Shippensburg Saturday in a
PSAC contest.
Anne
Waapu (r-fr. Hastings, NEW ZEALAND)
had the game-tying goal
at the 25:43 mark, making it 1-1.
Flowers made six
saves for the Golden Bears (11-1, 7-1 PSAC).

scored his second goal
of the season early in the second half as KU collected a 1-1 tie
after two overtimes against Holy Family at Keystone Field. Young,
off an assist from
Keegan Moyer (fr. Fleetwood/Fleetwood),
scored at the 58:06 mark to give the Golden Bears a 1-0 lead, but
Holy Family turned on the offense in the second half of the
non-conference matchup, posting 11 of its 15 shots in regulation and
scoring the equalizer with 18:44 left. KU keeper
Matthew Fredericks (so. Montdale/Lakeland)
made 12 saves in the
contest.
SAT 9/29 - Lock Haven 2, KU 0 —
KU couldn’t overcome two
early goals in its 2-0 loss to Lock Haven Saturday. Lock Haven had
to make just one save for the shutout. KU managed just eight shots
in the PSAC contest, while Lock Haven had 17.
Fredericks made
three saves for KU.
