scored 27 points to lead KU over
Mansfield in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division
opener at Keystone Hall.
Dennis
scored 18 points in the first
half en route to his fifth straight 20-point game. He added seven rebounds,
six assists, three blocks and three steals.
Dave Ben (jr.
Coatesville/Coatesville)
and
Andre Woodlin (jr. Philadelphia/Central)
scored 18 points apiece.
Ben
scored 11 in the second half,
while
Woodlin notched 14 after
halftime.
Ryan
Washington (r-fr. Glendale/Wissahickon)
netted 13 points for KU, while
Jeremy
Coombs led the team in
rebounds with 11.

1/19 KU 70, West Chester 54 —
Washington
finished with a game-high
16 points and was one rebound shy of a double-double as KU defeated West
Chester at Hollinger Field House. Six of Washington’s points came during an
11-1 Golden Bear run early in the first half of the Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference East contest, helping KU build a 22-15 lead.
Ben
scored 14 points and had seven
rebounds, and
Dennis
had 11 points.
Ben
also had a game-high seven
steals.

Conference Eastern Division opener Wednesday night.
Van Wagner
hit 5-of-8 field goals
and 8-of-10 free throws.

had 13 points and nine boards and
Rachel
Weidensaul (sr. Ashland/Cardinal Brennan)
had 10 points.

1/19 West Chester 68, West Chester 56 —
Van Wagner
set a new school record
in blocks, but KU fell to West Chester University at Hollinger Field House.
Van
Wagner registered a
double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. She had five blocks, giving
her 168 on her career, breaking the school’s career blocked shot record
(Becky Savage, 1999-2003).
Weidensaul
had a career- and
game-high 23 points, shooting 8-of-19 from the field and 4-of-9 from 3-point
land.

— The KU men’s swimming team won
its fifth straight dual meet with a win over Bloomsburg at Keystone Hall.
Nicholas Williams (fr. Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel),
Scott
Thomas (jr. Friedensburg/Blue Mountain)
and
Sean Bonifas
(sr. Lancaster/Hempfield)
each won two individual events in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference
win.
Bonifas helped lead KU as
he won the 200-yard IM (2:03.67) and 200 breaststroke (2:19.17). He, along
with
Gabriel Recio (fr. Lancaster/Hempfield),
Scott
Arnold (sr. Manchester/Northeastern)
and
Derek Orr (jr.
Easton/Easton), finished
first in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:51.15.
Williams
and
Thomas
went on to win two events, both
the 100 free (49.43) and the 200 free (1:46.85).
Thomas
took first in the 200 backstroke
(2:03.53) and the 1,000 free (10:18.58).

— The KU women’s swimming team
picked up its first victory in school history over Bloomsburg in a
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matchup at Keystone Hall. KU was led
by
Ashley Singer (sr. Lititz/Warwick)
as she won both the 500- and
1,000-yard freestyles with times of 5:19.39 and 10:53.06, respectively. Also
winning multiple events for the Golden Bears was
Steph
Jeppesen (so. Bethlehem/Liberty),
the 200 IM (2:15.39) and the 200 backstroke (2:28.36).
Laura Heebner
(jr. Easton/Easton) took
first in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:18.06, and
Allison
Sheely (fr. Enola/Trinity)
finished first in the 200
backstroke (2:14.79).
Jeppesen,
Sheely
and
Heebner
also teamed up with
Casey Pollard (fr. Easton/Easton)
to take first in the 400 medley
with a time of 4:08.00, earning the squad 11 points.

KU placed first out of 14 teams
at the Ursinus Collegeville Classic, scoring 132 points to finish ahead of
St. Joseph’s (100). West Chester (69), Millersville (54) and Cheyney (37)
rounded out the top five. The KU women’s 1,600-meter relay teams, both the
A-team and the B-team, swept the top two spots. The A-team was comprised of
Joanna
Horstmann (jr. Downingtown/Downingtown West),
Jessica Schlechter (so. Chalfont/Central Bucks South), Katie Colburn (fr.
Hanover/South Western)
and
Doofan Tor-Agbidye (jr. Stewartsville/N.J./Phillipsburg).
Samirah Barczynski (so. Mohnton/Governor Mifflin)
finished first in the 200 with a
time of 27.90.
Horstmann

Williams (sr. Harrisburg/Riverside)
finished first and second,
respectively, in the 1-mile run with times of 5:21.95 and 5:22.85.

did the same in the women’s shot put.

won the pole vault with a jump of 10-6.

1/18 - FRI 1/18 men 1st/14 at Ursinus Collegeville Classic —
KU placed first out of 14 teams
at the Ursinus Collegeville Classic, scoring 87 points, to edge out
Farmindale St. (80) and Cheyney (77). Rutgers-Camden scored 55 to finish
fourth and St. Joseph’s had 42 to round out the top five.
Billy Boorse
(sr. Collegeville/Perkiomen Valley)
won the 800 with a time of 1:58.29. In the field events,
Jim Dart (sr.
Havertown/Haverford)
finished first in the shot put (52-5 1/2), while
Justin
Germani (fr. Birdsboro/Daniel Boone)
won the pole vault (14-5 1/2).

Liberty Duals, defeating Seton Hill while falling to West Liberty.

all went 2-0 for KU (5-2).
Davis,
at 184, was the only Golden Bear to collect a pin at the duals, flattening
his opponent from West Liberty in 3:45. He also won by forfeit against Seton
Hill.
Chambers, at 149, and
Zeek,
at 157, both recorded two decisions Saturday.

at heavyweight, won a 3-1 decision.
