SAT 1/26 -
KU 67, Bloomsburg 52 — KU
extended its winning streak to six games with a victory at Bloomsburg
University Saturday to move to 4-0 in the PSAC East, tying a school record
for best start in the conference. KU boasted four players in double digits,
including
Woodlin,
who paced the Golden Bears with 14 points.
Washington
missed a double-double
with 12 points and nine boards. He also dished out five assists. The team’s
second leading scorer,
Ben,
played for 38 minutes and scored 12 points.
Coombs
scored 10 points and grabbed six
rebounds.

— KU lost to PSAC East foe
Millersville University at Keystone Hall. The Golden Bears did not have a
player score in double-digits, but were led by

Weidensaul (sr. Ashland/Cardinal Brennan)

Claire Sitarz (so. Southampton/Archbishop Wood),
who each had eight
points.
Weidensaul
shot well early on, as
she scored almost half (eight) of KU’s 19 points in the first 20 minutes.

1/26 - KU 71, Bloomsburg 52 —
Weidensaul
scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead KU past
Bloomsburg in a PSAC East contest.
Weidensaul,
who hit the 20-point mark for the fourth time this season, shot 8-of-11 from
the field and was 2-of-3 from 3-point land. The hot shooting was contagious
as the Golden Bears shot 57.1 percent in the first half and found themselves
up 38-29 at halftime.
Lara
Dellegrotti (jr. Berwick/Berwick)
played a season-high 32 minutes
and chipped in 12 points, shooting 4-of-11 from the field with three
3-pointers.

1/26 - KU 9th/20 at BOWIE STATE CLASSIC —
KU went 5-6 to finish ninth out of 20 teams with 8,989 total pins at the
Bowie State Classic. The Golden Bears went 3-2 in baker games Saturday and
2-4 in the traditional games Sunday.
Kayla Stamm (fr.
Mohnton/Governor Mifflin)
led Kutztown with a 199.3 average, followed closely by
Megan
Jonigkeit (fr. Langhorne/Neshaminy),
who had a 198.1, and
Jacquelyn
Heimbach (jr. Easton/Easton),
who averaged 193.1. In the baker games, KU collected wins over No. 17 St.
Paul’s (730-627), North Central Carolina State (818-636) and Elizabeth City
(741-703). KU’s only losses came to Virginia State (639-624) and to No. 3
University of Maryland-Eastern Shore (888-691). In Sunday’s traditional
matches, KU beat Howard (912-850) and St. Francis (950-911), and lost to
Morgan State (927-924), No. 10 Delaware State (930-925), No. 7 Sacred Heart
(1,000-790) and No. 5 Fairleigh Dickinson (996-884).

FRI-SAT 1/25-1/26 - KU men at Bison Open —
KU had 15 athletes and two relay
teams finish in the top eight of their respective events in the second day
of the Bison Open Saturday, while
James Dart
(sr. Havertown/Haverford)
set a new school record Friday with a first-place throw of 54-2 in the shot
put. The throw also placed him in seventh on the NCAA Division II
performance list. Saturday, the Golden Bears’ best finish came in the
1,600-meter relay, as the team of

KU finished 3-1-1 at the East
Coast Duals at UNC-Pembroke. KU went 3-1-1 overall at the event, with
Kyle Davis
(so. Peckville/Valley View),

Snyder (so. Slatington/Northern Lehigh)
and
Kevin
Bolinsky (fr. Ashland/North Schuylkill)
dominating the bottom of the Golden Bears’ lineup. The three wrestlers, who
compete at 184, 197 and 285 pounds, respectively, went a combined 13-2 at
the duals with six pins. Snyder went 5-0 with a pin, while
Davis
and
Bolinsky
each went 4-1. Both of
their losses came to nationally ranked wrestlers.
Bolinsky
finished with three pins
and
Davis had two.
Chris
Chambers (jr. Holland/Council Rock South),
at 149, and
Dave Zeek
(so. Newtown/Council Rock North),
at 157, also went 4-1 at the duals. Both had two pins each, and
Chambers
added a technical fall.
KU opened the duals with two wins Friday, 26-12 over Anderson (S.C.) and
29-14 against host UNC-Pembroke. The Golden Bears began Saturday’s sessions
with an 18-18 tie against No. 18 Limestone. KU bounced back with a decisive
42-3 win over St. Andrews before coming up short in a 21-18 loss to Belmont
Abbey.
