scored a career-high 32 points to lead a stellar second-half
come-from-behind victory at East Stroudsburg.
Ben
scored 24 of his points after
halftime, as KU outscored the Warriors 52-19 in the second half, turning an
11-point halftime deficit into a rout.
Andre Woodlin
(jr. Philadelphia/Central)
scored 14 points and
Stephen
Dennis (so. West Chester/Henderson)
added 10 points, 10 rebounds and
five blocks.

2/9 - KU 78, WEST CHESTER 73 —
Ben
scored 16 points and hit a late
3-pointer which helped propel KU to a five-point win over West Chester at
Keystone Hall.
Ben’s
3 with 1:05 left in the second
half gave KU a 76-73 lead, and
Dennis,
who scored 17 points, hit two free throws to help the Golden Bears sweep
their regular-season series with West Chester.
Nate Edwards

Woodlin and

also reached double-digit
scoring for KU.
Edwards,
who finished with 15 points, hit three 3-pointers in the game, including two

Melissa
McQuade (fr. Pittsburgh/Shaler)
scored a season-high 20 points
and grabbed 11 rebounds, but KU fell to East Stroudsburg in a PSAC East
contest at Koehler Fieldhouse. McQuade connected on 8-of-18 field goals,
including four 3-pointers as the freshman hit the 20-point mark for the
first time. She was the only Golden Bear to reach double figures in the
scoring column, as

and
Mercedes Van Wagner (sr. Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional)
netted nine points apiece.

Van Wagner
joined the exclusive
1,000-point club in Kutztown’s loss to West Chester University as her
game-high 24 points made her the 11th woman in program history to score
1,000. With a pair free throws at the 6:23 mark, she hit 1,001 career points
and stretched KU’s lead to 28-18 late in the first frame.
McQuade
picked up her third
consecutive double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, while
Rachel
Wisemiller (so. Hazleton/Hazleton)
chipped in 13 points.

SAT-SUN 2/9-2/10 - KU 7th/14 at Capital Classic (Dover, Del.) —
KU went 3-2 in its traditional
matches Saturday and 2-3 in baker games Sunday to finished seventh out of 14
teams at the Capital Classic in Dover, Del. KU just missed out on a 4-1
record Saturday, falling to No. 17 St. Francis by only five pins (829-824).
In individual games Saturday,
Jacquelyn
Heimbach (jr. Easton/Easton)
averaged a 205 in the five
matches on the day, with her high score of 224 coming against No. 20 Bowie
State in the fourth match of the day.
Heimbach
was named the team MVP
for the tournament, placing seventh overall.
Kayla Stamm (fr.
Mohnton/Governor Mifflin)
had a solid day for the Golden
Bears, turning in a 183 average and a high game of 201 in the match against
Bowie State.
Steph Ray
(so. West Lawn/Wilson)
averaged a 166.4, while
Megan
Jonigkeit (fr. Langhorne/Neshaminy)
posted an average of 167.6.
Jillian Brennecke (jr. Hatfield/North Penn)
averaged a 147 through three
games. The Golden Bears (32-31) defeated top 20 team Bowie State (No.20) and
fell to No. 17 Saint Francis 829-824 and No.5 Fairleigh Dickinson 895-808.
KU defeated Hampton 838-799 and Coppin St. 911-786. On Sunday, KU (37-36)
played three total-score baker games and two best-of-seven games. The Golden
Bears lost 757-707 to No. 15 Adelphi and 788-740 to Howard in total-score
games, while winning 770-719 over Morgan State. In two best-of-seven baker
matches, KU lost to Wisconsin-Whitewater 4-1 and defeated Morgan State 4-1.

men’s team place in the top 25 in three events, while the women did the same

(54-1) and 21st in the 35-pound weight throw (55-4 1/4). The 1,600-meter
relay team of

Bolinsky had the lone
fall of the night for the Golden Bears at the 6:30 mark in the third period.
Flood’s 3-1 overtime
victory decision was crucial for KU, as he scored the takedown with only
seven seconds left in the overtime period.
Davis’
10-2 decision sealed the victory
as he shot out to a 5-0 first period lead and never looked back, making the
score 16-13 in favor of KU.
Vollrath
won 8-3 and
Chambers
won 4-1 to cut the
Marauders’ lead to 10-6.

KU opened its season with two
wins at the USC-Aiken Tournament in Aiken, S.C., defeating No. 3 Columbus
State 4-2 and UNC-Pembroke 4-3. Augusta State won 3-2 in the Golden Bears’
only loss of the tournament. Against UNC-Pembroke,
Katlin
Arbogast (so. Ambler/Wissahickon)
struck out 10 batters in a
complete-game win Saturday.
Arbogast
allowed three runs on six
hits in her seven innings of work.
Kim Morrison
(jr. Newmarket, ONTARIO/Sir William Mulock),
who finished 2-for-3, hit a two-run homer in the first inning to give KU the
early 2-0 lead. She also had a double in the game.
Ashley
Fitzgerald (jr. Kitchener, ONTARIO/Resurrection)
went 1-for-2 for KU with a walk.
Against Augusta,
Krista
Cameron (jr. Formosa, ONTARIO/Sacred Heart)
had a double for KU, which went
up 2-0 in the top of the fourth, but Augusta struck out 13 Golden Bears to
squeak out the one-run win.

led KU against Columbus
State, going 3-for-3, with a homer and double. Her solo homer in the third
gave KU a 3-0 lead.

also an RBI in the game, and

Monica Glomb
(fr. Mars/Mars) pitched a
complete game for the Golden Bears, striking held Columbus State to only
four hits and two walks in the game

2/10 - KU 2-0 at USC-Aiken Tournament —
KU won both its contests in the
second day of the USC-Aiken Tournament, defeating No. 23 Georgia College and
State University 4-2 and the host squad, USC-Aiken, 3-1.
Fitzgerald,
against GCSU, doubled in two runs in the first inning, and in the second
inning,
Maria Schiavo
(so. Old Forge/Old Forge)
roped a two-run single to make
it 4-0. The four runs were all that
Glomb
needed, as she picked up her
second victory in the tournament.
Glomb
went the distance, allowing
seven hits and two earned runs while striking out five.
Arbogast
picked up her second win
in KU’s victory over USC-Aiken, pitching in relief of freshman
Maggie
Reifsnyder (fr. Philadelphia/Littleflower).
In her first collegiate action,
Reifsnyder
went 1.1 innings, while
allowing one earned run on three hits. She walked one and struck out two.
Arbogast entered the game
with one out in the second inning and was lights out, fanning 11 batters in
5.2 innings of work.
Cameron
drove in the first run of
the game in the first inning with a triple, giving the Golden Bears the 1-0
lead.
