FRI-SUN 3/7-3/9 - 8th/12 at ECAC Championships —
KU finished eighth out of 12
teams at the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championships, hosted by
New Jersey City University. KU went 2-8, with 1-4 records on both Saturday
and Sunday. The Golden Bears picked up a big win in the traditional games
Saturday, knocking off No. 6 New Jersey City 995-952. It was the
highest-ranked opponent that KU has beaten.
Steph Ray
(so. West Lawn/Wilson)
posted a career-high 242 in the win, as she averaged 183.8 Saturday — 13
pins higher than her season average. Her previous career-high was 217, which
she rolled on Jan. 12.
Kayla Stamm (fr.
Mohnton/Governor Mifflin)
led KU throughout the day,
recording an average of 187.8 in the Golden Bears’ five matches. KU lost to
No. 4 Sacred 946-872, No. 5 Fairleigh Dickinson 1,010-782, No. 14 Adelphi
892-868 and No. 19 St. Francis 902-890. Sunday’s baker games were
highlighted by a 736-645 defeat of No. 10 Delaware State. KU lost to No. 17
St. Peter’s (740-636) and Howard (728-717), before losing to Delaware State
4-2 in a best-of-seven match for sixth place, and falling to St. Peters 4-3
in a best-of-seven match for seventh place.

Armstrong Atlantic State
University hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth to hand KU a
loss in the opening game of the 2008 Savannah Invitational.
Chad Lightcap
(jr. Boyertown/Boyertown)
managed one of KU’s two hits,
leading off the sixth inning with a double. He later scored on a throwing
error by the third baseman to tie the game at 1-1.
Garrison
Rausch (sr. Allentown/Parkland)
pitched eight-plus innings,
allowing two runs on eight hits and one walk. He struck out three.
Michael Dugan
(r-fr. Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City)
had the other hit for KU, and
Mike

drew three walks in the game.

Augusta State at the Francis Marion Patriot Invitational.

in the first inning, but that was all the offense KU could muster.
