Corey
Buletza (fr. St. Clair/Pottsville)
went 5-for-5, drove in
two runs and scored three to lead KU to a win over PSAC inter-divison
foe Shippensburg at North Campus Field.
Buletza, who had
five singles, was one of five Golden Bears with multiple hits.
Mike
Kacelowicz (so. Orwigsburg/Blue Mountain)
was 3-for-6 with a pair
of doubles and two RBIs.
Jared
Frey (so. Mohrsville/Schuylkill Valley)
was 3-for-5 with an RBI.
Chad
Lightcap (jr. Boyertown/Boyertown)
was 2-for-3, while
Mark
Renda (r-fr. Lansdale/North Penn)

FRI 4/11 - Millersville 5, KU 1 —
KU had three hits in a
game one loss of a doubleheader against Millersville.
Jeff
Kistle (fr. Sandyston, N.J./Kittatinny)
had two hits and
Lightcap
accounted for the other. KU scored one run in the top half of the
first inning, as
Lightcap scored
on a Millersville error.
Philip Rummel (sr. Exeter/West-Mont Christian)
took the loss for KU on
the hill, but he threw a complete-game four-hitter. Only one of the
five runs he allowed were earned.
FRI 4/11 - Millersville 5, KU 1 —
Garrison Rausch (sr. Allentown/Parkland)

had the only hits of the
game for the Golden Bears, as KU fell in game two of its
doubleheader with Millersville. KU drew seven walks, with

SAT 4/12 - KU 3, MILLERSVILLE 2
— KU used a three-run
third inning to put away Millersville in game one of their
doubleheader at North Campus Field. A two-RBI single by
Matt
Kulbacki (so. Hershey/Hershey)
gave KU a 2-0 lead, and
Kistle, who
finished 2-for-3, singled in the eventual game-winner.
Lightcap and
Buletza, who each
drew walks, also scored in the inning.
Darin
Gorski (so. Mount Joy/Donegal)
pitched all seven
innings, allowing two runs on five hits and five walks. He struck
out 10.
SAT 4/12 - MILLERSVILLE 3, KU 1
— KU battled to tie the
game at 1-1, but two seventh-inning tallies helped Millersville win
the second game of a doubleheader at North Campus Field. Starting
pitcher
Derick Reis (sr. Jim Thorpe/Jim Thorpe)
had held the Marauders
to just one run on 11 hits, and worked out of back-to-back
bases-loaded jams in the second and third innings, before
Millersville plated two runs in the seventh inning.
Scott
Kacelowicz
finished 3-for-3 with an RBI, while
Rausch was
2-for-3 with a run scored.
Lightcap had a
one-out double in the sixth inning.

Denlinger (so. Harleysville/Souderton)
hit a bases-loaded
single in the bottom of the eighth inning to give KU a win over
Shippensburg in the first game of a PSAC East doubleheader at North
Campus Field.
Denlinger was
2-for-4 in the game, including a game-tying home run to lead off the
bottom of the seventh and send the game to extra innings.
Fitzgerald was
2-for-3 with two RBIs. She drove in two in the fifth inning on her
45th career double, breaking the KU record.
Maggie Reifsnyder (fr. Philadelphia/Littleflower)
was 3-for-4 while
Krista Cameron (jr. Formosa, ONTARIO/Sacred Heart)
was 2-for-4.
MON 4/7 - KU 2, SHIPPENSBURG 0 —
Mary
Hoch (fr. Somerton/St. Hubert)
and
Katlin Arbogast (so. Ambler/Wissahickon)
teamed up to shut out
the Red Raiders’ offense, as
Hoch
earned the victory, throwing the first four innings, while allowing
four hits.
Arbogast relieved
the freshman in the top of the fifth, and allowed one hit and struck
out three to pick up her second save of the season.
Ashley Fitzgerald (jr. Kitchener, ONTARIO/Resurrection)
was 2-for-3 with a
single and an RBI double.
Reifsnyder had a
sacrifice fly to right to drive in
Cameron.
FRI 4/11 - KU 4, West Chester 0 —
The Golden Bears scored
two early runs and
Arbogast held the
Golden Rams in check for the shutout in the first game of their
doubleheader at North Campus Field.
Arbogast struck
out nine over seven innings of work, limiting West Chester to five
hits. KU scored two unearned runs in the bottom of the first and
added two more in the fourth on RBI singles from
Kathy
Gregg (sr. Narvon/Garden Spot)
and
Kim
Morrison (jr. Newmarket, ONTARIO/Sir William Mulock).
Morrison finished
2-for-3 with an RBI single. Reifsnyder was 2-for-3. Pinch-runners

walk-off three-run homer to end the game in the fifth inning.

Reifsnyder hit
her fourth home run of the season.

threw a five-inning shutout, striking out six and allowing five

SAT 4/12 - KU 1, Millersville 0 —
Lauren Doering (fr. Brampton/ONTARIO/North Park)

Arbogast combined
to shut out the Marauders and allow only three hits in a pitcher’s
battle in game two of the doubleheader.
Doering pitched
four-plus innings, allowing three hits and one walk.
Arbogast relieved
the freshman and threw three perfect innings, striking out four for
her third save, tying KU single-season record for saves.
Morrison hit a
leadoff double and scored on a single by
Fitzgerald, who
was 2-for-3.

victory as Bloomsburg swept the doubles matches and five out of six
singles matches to win Tuesday at the Keystone Courts.
Labitsch won 6-2,
2-6, 6-4 in the second singles.

singles.

FRI-SAT 4/11-4/12 - KU women at Bucknell Invitational
— The Kutztown
University women’s outdoor track and field team had three athletes
hit NCAA Division II provisional marks at the Bucknell Invitational.
Keri
Brown (fr. Southampton, N.J./Seneca),
Stephanie Williams (sr. Harrisburg/Riverside)
and
Kristin Cupido (fr. Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan)
all placed in the top 10 in a very competitive distance oriented
night.
Brown
placed seventh in the Invitational section of the women’s
1,500-meter run in a time of 4:41.93,
Williams placed
10th in the 5,000 (17:29.81) and
Cupido ran her
debut 10,000 in 37:17.56.
Cheryl Dingman (jr. Lansdale/North Penn)
also ran in the
non-invitational section of the 1,500, placing eighth (4:52.17).
Doofan Tor-Agbidye (jr. Stewartsville, N.J./Phillipsburg)
led the way with a
second-place finish in the 400 meters and a third-place finish in
the 200. Her time in the 400 (56.90) was a season best and her
200-meter time of 25.27 is just .03 seconds from the school record.
Rachel Weigle (so. Red Lion/Red Lion)
placed the highest of
the night with a fourth in the women’s pole vault, jumping 10-11
3/4.
Ashley Pinter (fr. Bethlehem/Liberty)
placed fifth in the
hammer with a toss of 150-04. Other top finishes included KU’s 400
relay of
Samirah Barczynski (so. Mohnton/Governor Mifflin),
Jessica Donovan (jr. Newtown/Pennsbury),
Laura
Deller (sr. York/Dallastown)
and
Tor-Agbidye,
which placed ninth with a time of 50.35. The 1,600 team of
Deller,
Joanna Horstmann (jr. Downingtown/Downingtown West),
Heather Spangenberg (so. Clarks Summit/Abington Heights)

Tor-Agbidye
added a
sixth-place finish, running 4:01.56.
Deller jumped
16-10 1/2 in the long jump for 10th place while
Spangenberg ran a
season best of 1:00.78 in the 400.
Lynn
Lisofsky (fr. Wilkes-Barre/Coughlin)
also placed 10th in the
400 hurdles with a time of 1:07.16. Two KU women threw personal best
in the shot put with
Michelle Hughes (sr. Warminster/William Tennent)
finishing 13th (39-8
1/2) and
Pinter placing
15th (39-2 1/4).
FRI-SAT 4/11-4/12 - KU men at Bucknell Invitational
—
Vonkurt Redley (sr. Philadelphia/Cheltenham)
highlight the Kutztown
University men’s outdoor track and field team’s weekend at the
Bucknell Invitational with a first-place finish and an NCAA
provisional qualifying time in the 110 high hurdles of 14.63. Three
other KU men finished in the top 10 in the hurdles with
Shane
Harvey (fr. Potterburg, N.J./North Hunterdon)
placing seventh (15.07),
Justin Gibbs (sr. Pottstown/Pottstown)
eighth (15.13) and
T.J.
Longmore (so. Manheim Twp./Manheim Twp.)
tying for 10th (15.25).
Redley also added
a fifth-place finish in the 400 hurdles (55.71) and was followed
closely by
Jason
Rowles (so. Broomall/Marple Newtown),
who ran a season-best time 56.02 for seventh. Four KU athletes
placed in the top eight with
Jason
Rebuck (so. Southampton/William Tennent)
and
Chris
Boutsikaris (so. Andover, N.J./Newtown)
leading the way in the
hammer and javelin, respectively.
Rebuck threw
165-1, while
Boutsikaris
launched the javelin 186-1.

Boutsikaris in
the javelin with a season-best throw of 182-07.
Devin
Peterson (fr. Kutztown/Kutztown)
added a seventh-place
finish in the long jump (21-9).
Michael Kramer (fr. Pine Grove/Pine Grove)
placed well in two
events, tying for eighth in the 100 (11.02) and placing 13th in the
200 (22.40).
Peterson ran
11.15 to place 12th in the 100 dash. In the 400,
Kendel Dixon (so. Atglen/Octorara)
was 12th (49.80) and
Steve
Hixson (sr. Coopersburg/Southern Lehigh)
was 14th (50.12) — both
were personal season bests. They also were a part of the third-place
400 relay team (42.76), along with
Kramer and
Gibbs.
Hixson,
Dixon
and
Gibbs
teamed up with
Redley for the
1,600 relay, which took home a second-place finish and another
season best mark of 3:19.40.
Jim
Dart (sr. Havertown/Haverford)
continued his successful
season with a third-place showing the shot put (51-3) and a
ninth-place finish in the discus (147-8).
Steve
Tyson (sr. Bridgeport/Upper Merion)
joined
Dart
in the discus circle, throwing 138-4 for 12th place.
Cody
Hartzler (jr. Belleville/Indian Valley)
tied for eighth in the
high jump, clearing 6-2 1/4.
SAT 4/12 - at West Chester Collegiate Invitational
— KU had several
athletes in action at the West Chester Collegiate Invitational this
weekend, competing in the multi events. In the men’s decathlon,
Isaac
Schatz (fr. Elliottsburg/West Perry)
placed fifth with 5,406
points.
Tim
Farrell (fr. Manasquan, N.J./Wall)
was ninth (4,757). In
the women’s heptathlon,
Katie
Colburn (fr. Hanover/South Western)
was second with 3,776
points. KU’s
Rebecca Kerchak (jr. Sinking Spring/Wilson)
was fourth (3,416) and
Kayley Harmon (fr. Germansville/Northwestern Lehigh)
was sixth (2,683).
