SAT 9/13 — Women 4th/14 at Penn State Harry Groves
Invitational — KU finished in fourth place
out of fourteen at the Penn State Invitational, with the Golden
Bears placing six runners in the top 50 out of the 188 finishers and
scoring 153 points. Syracuse finished first with 30 points, while
Penn State had 45 points. Columbia (80) was third and Geneso State
(162) was fifth.
Joanna Horstmann (sr.
Downingtown/Downingtown West) finished
16th place (22:46).
Kristy Ulhrich (fr.
Duncannon/Susquenita) came in at 29th
place with a time of 23:27 and just after her was
Kristin Cupido (so.
Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) at
23:33, for 32nd place.
Hailey Dell (sr.
Saranac Lake, N.Y./Saranac Lake) placed
37th with a time of 23:44and
Steph Grimm (sr.
Fleetwood/Oley Valley) finished three
seconds behind at 23:47 for 39th place.
Cheryl Dingman (jr.
Lansdale/North Penn) finished 45th with a
time of 24:06. Teammate
Maureen Watson (jr.
Walnutport/Allentown Central Catholic) was
just behind her at 24:22.
Kristy Ulhrich (fr.
Duncannon/Susquenita) rounded out the
Golden Bears’ top seven with a time of 23:33.

KU finished in 10th place at the Penn State
Invitational, with three placing in the top 50 out of 188 finishers.
Syracuse placed first with 15 points, while Columbia (51), Penn
State (83), Geneso State (121) and Dickinson (132) rounding out the

Loht (jr. Lewistown/Indian Valley) led all
Golden Bears with a finish at 40th (28:18). Placing 45th and 50th
were Kevin
Rodgers (so. Clifton Heights/Upper Darby)
and Ryan Reich (fr.
Oley/Oley Valley) with times of 28:41 and
28:33, respectively. Other notable times were
Frank Nick (fr.
Kintersville/Palisades) at 29:23 and
Paul Kuehnle (fr.
Saddle Brook, N.J./Saddle Brook) at 31:20.

Carrie Healey (jr. Toms
River, N.J./Toms River North) capped a
comeback for the Golden Bears with two late goals in a win over
Millersville. Trailing 3-1,
Abbey Sheeler (so.
Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights) made it 3-2,
and early in the second half,
Anne Waapu (so.
Hastings, NEW ZEALAND) tied the game.
Healey
had the game-winner with six minutes left and added an insurance
goal two minutes later.

and an assist.

9/13 — KU 3, Adelphi 1 — KU scored twice
in the first half to defeat Adelphi University.

the scoring on a breakaway, assisted by

9/14 — KU 5, C.W. Post 1 —
Lyndsay Butler (sr.
Annandale, N.J./Summit) had a hat trick
and Kelley
Healey broke the school record for assists
in a career as KU defeated C.W. Post.
Kelley
Healey
assisted on
Butler’s second and third goals, giving
her 33 assists, passing Justine Baer (1998-2001).
Butler’s
first goal tied the game at 1-1 early in the second half and her
next two gave KU a 3-1 lead.
Sheeler
added two more goals late in the second half.

9/12 — KU 2ND/5 FALL INVITATIONAL —
Kelli Pry (so.
Coatesville/Coatesville) tied for the
individual medal and KU placed second a the KU Fall Invitational at
a rainy Berkleigh Golf Club.
Pry
shot a five-over 79 on the par-74, 6,030-yard course. Lehigh edged
KU in the team standings, with a score of 331 to KU’s 335. McDaniel
was third at 370, followed by West Chester (387) and East
Stroudsburg (495).
Samantha Rumbley (so.
Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright) was third
overall with an 81, while
Krista Tressler (sr.
Fayeteville/Heritage Academy) tied for
sixth at 86.
Chelsea Corbo (fr. Harrisburg/Central Dauphin East)
rounded out KU’s top-four scorers with an 89, good for 10th place.
Lauren Foulke
(sr. Kempton/Kutztown) tied for 13th with
a 94, while Erin
Arden (jr. Somers, N.Y./Somers) (16th, 95)
and Morgan Todd
(fr. Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central)
(23rd, 109) completed KU’s field.

TUE
9/9 — West Chester 7, KU 0 — KU suffered a
shutout loss to PSAC East foe West Chester. The Golden Bears were
outshot 17-6 in the game.

9/13 — BLOOMSBURG 3, KU 2 (OT) —
Greg Parker (fr. West
Grove/Avon Grove) scored two goals for KU,
but Bloomsburg University rallied to tie and win in overtime at
Keystone Field. The Golden Bears scored in the second minute of the
PSAC East game, and made it 2-1 at the 54:08 mark; however
Bloomsburg tied the game at 2 with less than seven minutes left in
regulation to force overtime. In the extra frame, the Huskies scored
the game-winner in the 97th minute.
Rusty Chapel (jr.
Topton/Brandywine) recorded an assist for
KU. Shawn Knash
(so. Honesdale/Honesdale) made eight saves
for the Golden Bears.

9/9 — West Chester 2, KU 0 — KU stayed
close with the No. 3 team in Division II for a half, but West
Chester proved to be too much, as the Rams defeated the Golden
Bears. West Chester scored on a deflected corner kick at the 49:20
mark and added a tally in the 85th minute.

saves for KU.

9/13 — KU 4, BLOOMSBURG 0 —
Chelsea Bressler (fr.
Cleona/Annville-Cleona) scored two goals
as KU used a late flurry of goals to solidify its PSAC East shutout
of Bloomsburg University at Keystone Field. KU scored in the 57th
minute when
Bressler took a pass from
Alex Butler (sr.
Montoursville/Montoursville) and beat the
Bloomsburg keeper for the 1-0 lead. KU’s defense played strong over
the remainder of the half as Bloomsburg fired off 15 second-half
shots. Addleman,
however, made 10 saves to collect her first shutout of her career.
Jen Pyne (so.
Wall, N.J./Wall) and
Raven Chiara (jr.
Jamesburg, N.J./Monroe Twp.) had goals for
KU, and Shannon

doubles slot.
Joerns won her singles match by a score of

West Chester Tournament with a thrilling victory, using a 15-10
decision in the fifth set to beat Holy Family. After dropping the
first set 25-22, the Golden Bears rallied in the next two sets with
wins of 27-25 and 25-13 before losing the fourth set to force a
tiebreaker.
Miller led the offense with 10 kills and
three blocks.
