Kelley Healey (sr. Toms River, N.J./Toms River North)
kick-started the offense in the second half for KU in a win over
Millersville at University Field.
Healey’s goal at
the 36:55 mark broke the 1-1 tie and was one of four second-half
goals for KU.
Lyndsay Butler (sr. Annandale, N.J./Summit)
scored twice in the
contest, including the game’s first goal in the 10th minute.
Abbey
Sheeler (so. Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights)

SAT 10/11 — INDIANA (Pa.) 2, KU 0 —
KU held the No. 1 team
in the nation Indiana (Pa.) University scoreless for more than 45
minutes, but two quick goals were all the Crimson Hawks needed to
beat the Golden Bears at University Field. Indiana outshot KU 15-7
in the PSAC crossover.

KU finished the
36-hole Rutgers University Invitational with a score of 696, tied
with Boston University for 14th place. Boston College won the
tournament with a score of 629, followed by Lehigh (633) and Albany
(635). KU was the only non-Division I team in the field.
Kelli
Pry (so. Coatesville/Coatesville)
tied for 43rd place to
lead KU with a score of 169. She shot an 86 on Saturday on the
par-72 course.
Samatha Rumbley (so. Bel Air, Md./C. Milton Wright)
tied for 50th with a
171.
Krista
Tressler (sr. Fayeteville/Heritage Academy)
tied for 70th, carding a

Chester University dealt KU a loss in PSAC East play at Keystone
Field.

the game. Shippensburg applied pressure late and hit a crossbar in

SAT 10/11 — KU 0, WEST CHESTER 0 (2 OT) —
KU held the No. 6 team
in the nation scoreless over 110 minutes to draw even with West
Chester after two overtimes at Keystone Field.
Addleman had
seven saves for KU, including three in the first overtime. KU
outshot West Chester 7-2 in the second half, however, the Golden
Rams held the overall edge 8-7.

won the PSAC doubles
championship at Bloomsburg University. It was the second-straight
doubles crown for
Labitsch, who
also won in 2007. After a first-round bye, they won two consecutive
matches to claim the title. In singles play,
Andrew Torrealba (jr. Pembroke Pines, Fla./Charles W. Flanagan)
upset the top
seed to qualify for the singles final. There,
Torrealba fell in
straight sets.
Sharma was a
semifinalist in singles play.

runner-up in singles and was a semifinalist in doubles to lead KU at
the PSAC Individual Championships at Bloomsburg University.
Das
upset No. 2 seed from Slippery Rock to advance to Sunday’s final.
Das
finished with a 3-1 record. Teaming with
Barbara Joerns (jr. Ludwigshafen, GERMANY)
the doubles pair were
PSAC semifinalists. Joerns and
Sabrina Arnaud (jr. Pintendre, CANADA)
each won first-round
matches in the singles championship bracket, but fell in the second
round.

Hall. Thomas led the Golden Bears with 22 assists, five service aces
and five digs. Setting the tone for the offense was

with seven kills and three digs.

SAT 10/11 — 1st/5 at KU DUALS —
KU opened up the 2008-09
season with five wins at the Kutztown Duals at Berks Lanes. KU won
all four of its traditional matches and a baker match. The Golden
Bears picked up wins over St. Peters (951-905), Cheyney (893-449),
Lincoln (867-553) and St. Francis (894-790). KU also won 680-585
over St. Francis in their baker match.
Kayla
Stamm (so. Mohnton/Governor Mifflin)
led the Golden Bears with a 206 against St. Peters and a 186 against
St. Francis.
Chelsea Adam (fr. Reading/Exeter)
also had a great debut
for KU, rolling KU’s best game of the day, a 222 against Lincoln.
She also had a 198 and a 166. Sixteen of KU’s 20 scores Saturday
were 170 or better.

SAT 10/11 — WEST CHESTER 112, KU 93 —
KU fell short against
West Chester University in the opening meet of the 2008-09 season at
Keystone Hall. The Golden Bears were led by
Jack
Crellin (fr. Pittsburgh/North Allegheny),
who finished first in two events, the 200-yard freestyle (1:48.37)
and the 200 backstroke (1:59.38).
Crellin also
helped the 200 freestyle relay team finish second in 1:31.11. In the
event, he swam with
Gabriel Recio (so. Lancaster/Hempfield),
Stephen Krater (jr. Port Carbon/Pottsville Area)
and
Derek
Orr (sr. Easton/Easton).
Scott
Thomas (sr. Schuylkill Haven/Blue Mountain)
was right behind
Crellin in the
backstroke, placing second with a time of 2:05.50.

KU fell to West Chester
in the first dual meet of the 2008-09 season at Keystone Hall. The
200-yard medley relay team of
Allison Sheely (so. Enola/Trinity),
Stephanie Jeppesen (jr. Bethlehem/Liberty),
Nicole Hinsdale (fr. Glen Mills/Bayard Rustin)
and
Jordan Shapiro (fr. Trenton N.J./Princeton)
placed first with a time of 1:53.04.
Shapiro also
placed first in the 50 freestyle (25.65) and the 100
freestyle (55.18). In the 200
breaststroke,
Jeppesen finished
first (2:30.12) and
Laura
Heebner (sr. Easton/Easton)
came in third (2:37.61).
With a time of 2:20.63,
Heebner placed
second in the 200 butterfly.
Nicole Hinsdale (fr. Glen Mills/Bayard Rustin)
