Men’s Basketball (4-0, 0-0 PSAC East)

Last Week’s Events

       TUE 11/25 — KU 94, GOLDEY-BEACOM 71 — KU used a 60-point second half to secure a win over Goldey-Beacom at Keystone Hall. The Golden Bears had four players in double figures and three with at least 20. Stephen Dennis (jr. West Chester/Henderson) and Andre Woodlin (sr. Philadelphia/Central) each scored 22 points. Woodlin shot 10-of-12 from the field and added four assists. Dave Ben (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville) scored 16 of his 20 points in the second half. Ryan Washington (so. Philadelphia/Wissahickon) added 12 points, eight rebounds and seven blocks. Coming off the bench with eight points was Julius Gray (so. Lincoln/Oxford) in 29 minutes of play. KU shot 60.7 percent for the game.

       SUN 11/30 — KU 87, Holy Family 66 — Dennis and Ben combined for 44 points to lead KU to a win at Holy Family University. Dennis scored 23 points, dished out a career-high nine assists and added seven rebounds and three steals. Ben scored 21 points, including 11 consecutive during a key second-half stretch that gave KU the lead for good. Woodlin had 13 points and Mark Bower (sr. West Deptford/West Deptford) scored 11 for KU. Washington hauled in nine rebounds and scored eight points.

       TUE 11/25 — KU 75, Lincoln (Pa.) 48 — Melissa McQuade (so. Pittsburgh/Shaler) scored 27 points to lead KU to a win over Lincoln University in a non-conference game. McQuade added eight rebounds and five steals for KU. Rachel Wisemiller (jr. Hazleton/Hazleton) scored 16 points, Katie Dovey (jr. Willow Hill/Fannett-Metal) added 12 and Chauntelle Schroeder (jr. Toronto, Ontario/Mother Teresa Catholic) notched 10. Meredith Starr (so. Richmond, Va./Monacan) dished out a career-high 13 assists.

Last Week’s Events

       WED 11/25 — KU 19, Delaware Valley 19; KU 26, Elizabethtown 15 (at Elizabethtown) — KU defeated Elizabethtown and tied Delaware Valley at a dual meet at Elizabethtown. KU opened the day with a 19-19 tie with Delaware Valley, before beating host Elizabethtown 26-15. Joe Kemmerer (sr. Mountain Top/Crestwood), John Paukovits (so. Northampton/Northampton), Chris Chambers (sr. Holland/Council Rock South) and Dave Zeek (jr. Newtown/Council Rock North) were all 2-0 on the day. Kemmerer, at 133 pounds, got his first two pins of the season to remain unbeaten. Paukovits managed a major decision and a decision at 141 pounds. Chambers, at 157, and Zeek, at 174, each recorded two decisions. Sonny Flood (fr. Southampton/William Tennent), at 165, also had a decision and Bobby Mort (fr. Huntingdon/Huntingdon), at 285, had a pin.
