Men’s Basketball (8-0, 0-0 PSAC East)

Last Week’s Events

        WED 12/17 — KU 95, DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA 56 — Dave Ben (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville) tied a career-high with 32 points in a non-conference win over the University of the District of Columbia at Keystone Arena. Stephen Dennis (jr. West Chester/Henderson) joined in with 23 points as KU had a huge second half, outscoring the Firebirds 54-19. Ryan Washington (so. Philadelphia/Wissahickon) recorded a double-double, scoring 13 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Dennis was second on the team with eight rebounds. Andre Woodlin (sr. Philadelphia/Central) had 19 points. Ben had seven assists.

        SAT 12/22 — KU 68, PHILADELPHIA 60 — Dennis scored a team-high 23 points as KU survived a defensive affair against Philadelphia at Keystone Arena. Ben had 20 points and Washington had a team best 10 rebounds. Dennis had eight rebounds, three steals and four assists. Ben went 6-of-8 from the free-throw line, as the Golden Bears shot 20-of-31.

Women’s Basketball (7-1, 0-0 PSAC East)

Last Week’s Events

        WED 12/17 — KU 76, COLUMBIA UNION 30 Rachel Wisemiller (jr. Hazleton/Hazleton) and Melissa McQuade (so. Pittsburgh/Shaler) scored 15 points apiece to lead KU to a non-conference win against Columbia Union at Keystone Arena. McQuade and Katie Dovey (jr. Willow Hill/Fannett-Metal) led the team with seven rebounds each, and Wisemiller tied her career-high dishing out seven assists. Lara Dellegrotti (sr. Berwick/Berwick) scored 11 points and was 4-of-5 from the floor, including a 3-for-4 clip from 3-point range. Wisemiller also hit three 3s for KU and McQuade had two. Meredith Starr (so. Richmond, Va./Monacan) had eight assists and six points. The Golden Bears shot 52.9 percent in the first half en route to a 44-17 lead. The Golden Bears forced 27 turnovers and recorded 16 steals.

        SAT 12/22 — PHILADELPHIA 68, KU 64 — Wisemiller scored a career-high 22 points, but KU was handed its first loss of the season, a defeat to Philadelphia University at Keystone Arena. McQuade scored 19 points and had eight rebounds for the Golden Bears. She also had seven assists and two steals. Chauntelle Schroeder (jr. Toronto, Ont./Mother Theresa) had 10 rebounds.
