led KU to
a come-from-behind win over Edinboro at Keystone Hall. KU trailed by
13 with 7:40 left in the PSAC crossover, but KU went on a 16-3 run
to tie the game at 80-80 with 1:50 left.
Washington
finished with a career-high 26 points and pulled down 15 rebounds.
Dennis
was 9-of-10 from the line and finished with a team-high 27 points.
Andre
Woodlin
(sr. Philadelphia/Central)
had 16 points.
Julius Gray (so. Lincoln/Oxford)
had 10
points, including the go-ahead bucket, and two 3s.
Dave Ben (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville)
also
reached double-digits, scoring 10 points.
SUN 1/11 — KU 98, LOCK HAVEN 58 —
Ben
scored a career-high 34 points, leading KU to a rout of Lock Haven
University at Keystone Hall. The Golden Bears went up 49-21 at
halftime of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover and
never looked back, scoring another 49 points in the second half.
Washington
recorded his second straight double-double with 18 points and 15
rebounds, 12 on the defensive end.
Dennis
scored 15 points and had nine rebounds, seven steals, four assists
and a block.
Woodlin
had 11 points, shooting 3-for-3 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Chauntelle Schroeder (jr. Toronto, Ont./Mother Theresa)
had a career-high in both points and rebounds with 21 and 13,
respectively, to lead the Golden Bears.
Melissa McQuade (so. Pittsburgh/Shaler)
finished
with a double-double, scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds.
McQuade
was 10-of-11 from the free throw line and KU shot 27-of-32 as a
team. Also with a double-double was
Katie Dovey (jr. Willow Hill/Fannett-Metal)
scoring 12
points to go along with 10 rebounds.
Lara Dellegrotti (sr. Berwick/Berwick)
was 3-for-5 from 3 and finished with 15 points.
Rachel Wisemiller (jr. Hazelton/Hazelton)
scored 14 points and had two blocks.
SUN 1/11 — KU 77, LOCK HAVEN 72 —
Wisemiller
netted a career-high 27 points as KU defeated Lock Haven in a PSAC
crossover at Keystone Hall.
McQuade
recorded her second straight double-double, scoring 18 points and
pulling down 18 rebounds — a career high — 14 on the defensive end.
She also had three assists, a block and a steal.
Dellegrotti
hit three 3-pointers and went 5-for-6 from the free-throw line to
score 16 points, and
Schroeder
had 10.
Wisemiller
also had seven assists, two blocks and a steal. KU was 24-of-30 from
the line with
Wisemiller
going 8-for-8 and
McQuade
going 4-for-5.

totaled 1,493 pins to finish second in the individual standings
(213.3 avg.). KU's
Kayla
Jones (fr. Johnstown/Westmont Hilltop)
was sixth with a score
of 1,393 (199.0 avg.).
Kayla
Stamm (so. Mohnton/Governor Mifflin)
was eighth with 1,377
pinfall (196.7 avg.). She highlighted Saturday's matchups with a 257
against Long Island. It was the third-highest score ever for a KU
kegler. KU was 3-1 as a team Saturday. After losing its opening
match 980-894 against the hosts from St. Francis, the No. 8 ranked
Golden Bears defeated Long Island (1,021-679), Saint Peter's
(840-777) and No. 7 New Jersey City (1,084-1,035). KU scored 931
pins in a solo round to end the day. On Sunday, KU went 4-1, losing
only to New Jersey City in a best of seven baker match. KU won games
three through five, but New Jersey rallied to win the final two and
finish first in the standings. KU defeated Adelphi (977-951) and
Hampton (1,000-927) in individual action. KU also beat Long Island
(834-491) and St. Francis (931-770) in baker matches.

Stephen Krater (jr. Port Carbon/Pottsville Area)
took the
top spot in three events as the KU men’s team defeated Albright
College at Keystone Hall.
Krater
won the 50-, 100- and 200-yard freestyles, as KU won nine of the 14
events. He won the 50 in 23.25 seconds, 100 in 50.47 and 200 in
1:51.91.
Jack Crellin (fr. Pittsburgh/North Allegheny)
also
picked up multiple victories, winning the 100 and 200 backstroke
with times of 54.78 and 2:03.73, respectively.
David Shedleski (fr. Mechanicsburg/Trinity),
John Pandish (sr. Milford/Delaware Valley)
and
Jeff Travor (so. Quakertown/Quakertown Community)
also won
individual events for the Golden Bears.
Shedleski
won the 100 breaststroke (1:03.74), while
Travor
won the 200 breaststroke (2:19.73).

won the 200 butterfly (2:03.34).

members of the KU women’s team earned multiple first-place finishes
as the Golden Bears defeated Albright College at Keystone Hall.

Jordan Shapiro (fr. Trenton N.J./Princeton)
and
Allison
Sheely (so. Enola/Trinity)
each won two events for the Golden Bears in the non-conference meet.
Jeppesen
won the 100 and 200 breaststroke events with times of 1:09.32 and
2:28.86, respectively.
Shapiro
took first in the 50 freestyle (25.72), and
Sheely
swept the 100 and 200 freestyles with times of 57.25 and 2:00.53,
respectively.
Crigler
had a first-place finish in the 500 (5:21.95).
Heather Wolkom (jr. Rumson, N.J./Rumson Fair-Haven)
completed
the Golden Bears sweep of the freestyle events, winning the 1,000
(11:02.42).
Sheely
also won the 100 backstroke (1:03.20), while
Shapiro
won the 200 backstroke (2:16.53).
Crigler
finished in first in the 200 butterfly (2:18.33). Jeppesen teamed up
with

SAT 1/10 — KU 133, CALIFORNIA (Pa.) 129 —
The KU
women’s swim team edged out California (Pa.) 133-129 at Keystone
Pool.
Shapiro
and
Jeppesen
were multiple first-place finishers to help lead KU to the PSAC
victory.
Shapiro
took first in the 50-yard backstroke with a time of 29.10, with
Sheely
taking second at 29.30.
Shapiro
grabbed a first-place finish in the 100 back, posting a time of
1:01.56.
Shapiro
also earned a second place finish in the 50 free (25.74).
Jeppesen
placed first in the 50 breast (31.73) and the 100 breast (1:09.48).
She finished in second in the 100 free at 55.62. Also finishing in
first was
Hinsdale,
with a time of 2:01.46 in the 200 free. Finishing behind
Hinsdale
in the 200 were KU swimmers
Kerry Choplin (so. Thorofare, N.J./West Deptford)
in second (2:02.96) and
Kearns
in third (2:04.53).

second-place finishes in the 100 fly (1:02.47) and the 400 IM

(49-10) and the shot put (39-6 3/4).

1/9 — KU men at GOLDEN BEAR INVITE —
Cody
Hartzler (sr. Belleville/Indian Valley)
picked up the KU men
team's only individual first-place finish at the Golden Bear
Invitational at Keystone Fieldhouse. KU’s relay team beat out
Shippensburg in the 1,600-meter relay for first-place, with a time
of 3:30.92. In the high jump,
Hartzler took
first place with a jump of 6-6. In the 3,200 relay, KU finished
behind Muhlenberg (8:21.85) with a time of 9:12.07. KU’s
Jason
Rowles (jr. Broomall/Marple Newtown)
finished in second place
with a time of 1:09.42 in the 400.
T.J.
Longmore (jr. Lititz/Manheim Twp.)
took second in the 55
hurdles (7.85) and pole vaulter
William Hodges (jr. Levittown/Neshaminy)
finished tied for second at 14-6.

Joe
Kemmerer (sr. Mountain Top/Crestwood)
remained undefeated on
the season, but KU fell to Pitt-Johnstown at Keystone Hall. KU
picked up just three victories in the loss.
Kemmerer, at 133
pounds, led the way with an 11-0 major decision.
John
Paukovits (so. Northampton/Northampton),
at 141, won a 9-4 decision, and
David
Zeek (jr. Newtown/Council Rock North),
at 165, won by forfeit.
WED
1/7 — KING’S COLLEGE ppd.
SAT
1/10 — KU at Shorty Hitchcock Open (at Millersville) —
Paukovits won the
141-pound bracket to lead KU at the Shorty Hitchcock Open. He was
one of three Golden Bears to place in the top three.
Scott
Snyder (jr. Slatington/Northen Lehigh)
was the runner-up at 197
pounds and
Zeek
was third at 165.
Paukovits picked
up two decisions and a pin to reach the final, where he won 8-5.
Snyder notched
four decision wins before losing by fall in the final.
Zeek
won three decisions, lost by decision in the semifinals, then
bounced back with two consolation wins to take third place.
