West Chester University at Keystone Hall.

divisional game. KU also extended its record winning streak to 11
games.

KU had a perfect weekend at the Northeast Conference Meet No. 2,
winning all six matches at St. Francis. The Golden Bears (72-32) are
now 11-1 in the NEC and atop the standings. KU opened the meet with
a 1,730-1,629 win over second-ranked Fairleigh Dickinson. The No. 8
Golden Bears were led by a 209 from
Jacquelyn Heimbach (sr. Easton/Easton)
and a 202 from
Kayla
Stamm (so. Mohnton/Governor Mifflin).
KU outscored FDU 940-932 in the traditional match, then rolled a
790-697 win in the four-game baker match. KU then defeated Saint
Peter's 1,581-1,452. In the final match of the day, KU rolled a
1,620-1,240 win over Long Island. KU's highest individual game of
the day was rolled by

vs. LIU. The freshman carded a 212, a personal best at KU. KU opened
Sunday with a win over Adelphi, 1,630-1,596. The Golden Bears were

Heimbach's 209.
The Golden Bears also picked up wins against St. Francis,
1,668-1,512, and Sacred Heart, 1,753-1,528. In their traditional
match against Sacred Heart,

Heimbach led the
Golden Bears on the weekend, knocking down 1,172 pins in six games
for a 195.3 average.

THU 2/19-SUN 2/22 — 8th/8 at PSAC Championships —
KU
finished eighth with 177 points at the 2009 PSAC Championships at
Cumberland Valley High School. West Chester won the team title with
812 points. Shippensburg was second with 544.5 and Clarion was third
with 504. Gannon (362) and Bloomsburg (342.5) rounded out the top
five.
Joe Lahovski (fr. Allentown/Emmaus)
led the
Golden Bears with two top-10 and a 15th-place finish.
Lahovski
was ninth in the 1,650 freestyle (16:37.71) and 10th in the 1,000
freestyle (9:48.87). He added a 15th-place finish in the 500 free
(4:50.05).
Scott Thomas (sr. Schuylkill Haven/Blue Mountain)
picked up
the Golden Bears’ best finish, sixth in the 200 backstroke with a
time of 1:56.44.
Thomas
also placed 15th in the 400 IM, followed by

picked up

Women’s Swimming (11-3, 7-3 PSAC)

THU 2/19-SUN 2/22 — 7th/14 at PSAC Championships —
Stephanie Jeppesen (jr. Bethlehem/Liberty)
set three individual school records, leading KU to a seventh-place
finish at the 2009 PSAC Championships at Cumberland Valley High
School. KU scored a total of 267.5 points in the four-day event.
West Chester won the women’s team title with 660.5 points, followed
by Clarion, which had 560 points. California, Pa., had 495 points,
Gannon 352.5 and Indiana, Pa., 287.5 to round out the top five.
Jeppesen
set school records with NCAA A-Cut times in the 100- and 200-yard
breaststroke and the 200 individual medley. In the 100 breaststroke,
she broke a school record (1:04.30), while placing third in the
finals. Her time broke the record she set earlier in the prelims
(1:05.44).
Jeppesen's
record-breaking performance in the 200-yard IM with a time of
2:07.51.
Jeppesen
finished second in the race, breaking the school record set by
Claudine Gruver in 1997. She finished second in the 200 breaststroke
in a record time of 2:17.19.
Jeppesen
also was a member of the school record-breaking 800 freestyle relay
team, swimming with
Nicole Hinsdale (fr. Glen Mills/Bayard Rustin),
Kerry Choplin (so. Thorofare, N.J./West Deptford)
and
Heather Wolkom (jr. Rumson, N.J./Rumson Fair-Haven).
The four KU swimmers finished fifth in the time of 7:52.94.
Wolkom
set a school record in the 1,000 free, placing fifth with a KU
record-setting time of 10:31.88. The time was also an NCAA-B
qualifying mark. She broke the previous record of 10:42.18 by Ashley
Singer in 2007.
Wolkom
also set a school record in the 1,650 freestyle, placing sixth with
an NCAA B-Cut time of 17:53.17.
Alex Crigler (so. West Lawn/Wilson High School)
finished
in ninth (17:56.60) behind
Wolkom
and
Choplin
was 13th (18:03.26), both recording NCAA B-Cut times. In the 500
free,
Wolkom
placed sixth with a time of 5:10.61, which was an NCAA-B cut time.
Crigler
was 14th in the event (5:16.20).
Crigler
also placed 11th in 10:42.79, also an NCAA B-Cut time.
Choplin
was 15th in 10:50.41.

was 12th
in the 400 IM, swimming it in 4:45.00, a new KU school record.
Choplin
followed with a 16th-place finish (4:50.34). In the 200 butterfly,
Heebner
placed 14th (2:17.85).
Hinsdale
placed 10th in the 200 backstroke (2:09.93) and
Jordan Shapiro (fr. Trenton N.J./Princeton)
was 12th
(2:11.35).

also took 12th in the 100 backstroke (59.86).

first-place finish in the weight throw to lead KU at the 2009
Susquehanna Open. KU also had a first-place finish in the
1,600-meter relay.

and two wins by forfeit helped KU defeat Shippensburg. The win gives
KU 10 victories on the season, the fourth time in the last five
seasons that the Golden Bears have recorded 10 or more wins under
coach

recorded a winning record all nine seasons at KU, the longest
stretch of any KU wrestling coach. He also has 91 coaching wins,
second in program history behind Dan Hinkel, who has 124.

Houck
finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored, while
Quigley
was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.

was 3-for-6, including a double in the eighth to give KU a 13-11
lead.
