Stephen Dennis (jr. West Chester/Henderson)
scored 25
points, including 11 free throws, to lead KU past Cheyney in a PSAC
East contest. No. 24-ranked KU finishes the regular season
undefeated at home, 14-0. The win also marked KU head coach
Bernie
Driscoll's
137th win, a school record, passing Walt Risley (1945-63).
Andre Woodlin (sr. Philadelphia/Central)
was 5-of-6
from the charity stripe, scored 15 points and pulled down eight
rebounds.
Ryan Washington (so. Philadelphia/Wissahickon)
added 19
points, including the go-ahead putback that gave KU a 77-76 lead
with 59 seconds left.
Ryan White (fr. Philadelphia/Franklin Learning Ctr.)
finished
with six points and seven boards, all on the offensive end.
Dave Ben (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville)
finished
with 13 points, including a clutch 3-pointer in the second half.

each scored 25 points in a PSAC East win over Bloomsburg.
Woodlin
also pulled down nine rebounds and have five assists.

scored 17 points and had eight rebounds.

Melissa McQuade (so. Pittsburgh/Shaler)
matched a
career high with 30 points and grabbed 19 boards to set KU's
single-season rebound record in a win over Cheyney.
McQuade
was 12-of-20 from the field, 4-of-6 from 3-point range and 2-for-2
from the line to match her career high of 30 points, set vs.
Pitt-Johnstown early this season. Her 19 boards, also a career high,
give her 259 for the season. She eclipsed the previous record of 251
by Missy Boettger in 1989-90.

scored 14
points and
Meredith Starr (so. Richmond, Va./Monacan)
had 11.
SAT 2/28 — KU 60, Bloomsburg 46 —
Wisemiller
hit five 3-pointers in KU's win over Bloomsburg. The 20th win is the
most wins by KU since the 1999-2000 season, when Golden Bears head

led the team to a 21-6 record. The 10th PSAC East win also is a
school record and the most since the 1999-2000 season.

University women's bowling team finished 10th at the sixth annual
Holiday Collegiate Classic at Alabama A&M.
Kayla
Jones (fr. Johnstown/Westmont Hilltop)
led the Golden Bears
Saturday, averaging a 214.1 over six games. She knocked down 1,285
pins for KU Saturday, with a high game of 234. She finished with an
average of 191.1 over 12 games. The Golden Bears opened the event
with an 807-795 win over Grand Canyon State. KU also defeated
Bethune-Cookman 1,038-890 and Jackson State 959-816. KU lost a few
close matches, including a one-pin loss to Arkansas State, 899-898.
The Golden Bears also fell 892-867 to No. 15 Wisconsin-Whitewater
and 882-839 to Central Missouri. On Sunday, KU went 3-3, as well,
defeating Alabama State (835-823), No. 12 Minnesota State-Mankato
(933-861) and Florida A&M (858-852).

SAT 2/8-3/1 — KU women 5th/13 PSAC Championship (at ESU) —
Kelly
Strickland (jr. Bear, Del./Caravel Academy)

Ashley Pinter (so. Bethlehem/Liberty)
won individual PSAC titles to lead the KU women's team at the PSAC
Indoor Championships. KU finished in fifth place with 62 points.
Slippery Rock was first with 146 points, edging out Shippensburg
(142). Lock Haven (101) was third, followed by Indiana (Pa.) with
84.
Strickland
took first in the pole with a mark of 10-11 3/4.
Pinter
won the shot put with a throw of 42-11. She also claimed fourth
place in the weight throw with a mark of 52-0 1/2.
Joanna Horstmann (sr. Downingtown/Downingtown West)
set a
school record in the mile, finishing fourth (5:03.42), an NCAA
provisional qualifying time.
Horstmann
also finished in eighth in the 800 (2:22.02). Cheryl
Dingman (jr. Lansdale/North Penn)
set the
new KU record in the 3,000 (10:12.21), placing fifth.

Cody Hartzler (sr. Belleville/Indian Valley)
led KU
with an All-PSAC performance in the high jump, finishing second with
a height of 6-6. The men's team finished the PSAC championships in
sixth place with 43 points. Shippensburg was first with 134 points,
followed by Lock Haven (129) and East Stroudsburg (120). Rounding
out the top five were Slippery Rock (91) and Indiana (Pa.) with 80.

fourth in the 400 (49.47) and sixth in the 200 (22.74). In the 55

Scott Snyder (jr. Slatington/Northern Lehigh)
each finished as the
runner-up in their respective weight classes at the NCAA Division II
Super Region I tournament at Mercyhurst College. Both wrestlers will
represent KU at the NCAA Division II Championships March 12-14 in
Houston, Texas. KU finished the tournament in sixth place with 53
points. Newberry College won the team title with 135.5 points and
Pitt-Johnstown was second with 108.5 points. West Liberty State
(92), Gannon (80.5) and Mercyhurst (71) rounded out the top five.
No. 1-seeded
Kemmerer, at 133
pounds,
Snyder, the No. 3
seed at 197 pounds, each went 3-1 at the tournament.
Kemmerer had two
decisions and a pin, while
Snyder recorded
three straight decisions.

as the No. 5 seed, and

who had a bye in the first round of the 157-pound bracket, each
wrestled into the semifinals, but fell into the consolation bracket
from there.

wrestled their way into
the wrestleback quarterfinals, but both wrestlers lost in the
semifinals.
