Men’s Basketball (26-4, 13-1 PSAC East)

TUE 3/3 — KU 97, MANSFIELD 86 (PSAC QUARTERFINALS) —
Stephen Dennis (jr. West Chester/Henderson)
scored 31 points to lead KU to a PSAC quarterfinal playoff win over
Mansfield University at Keystone Hall.
Dennis
netted 20 of his 31 in the second half as KU pulled away to win its
first playoff game in three tries at Keystone Hall.
Dave Ben (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville)
shot 6-of-12 from the floor to score 21 points. His six field goals
— three were from 3 — set the new school record for field goals in a
career.
Ryan Washington (so. Philadelphia/Wissahickon)
scored 19 points and
Andre Woodlin (sr. Philadelphia/Central)
had 17.
FRI 3/6 — KU 103, Slippery Rock 90 (PSAC Semifinals) —
Dennis
scored a career-high with 32 points and
Woodlin
hit the 1,000 career-point mark, as the Golden Bears defeated
Slippery Rock in the PSAC semifinals.
Ben
knocked down five 3s in the game to finish with 22 points, 13 coming
in the second half.
Mark Bower (sr. West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford)
finished the game with 11 points and 10 rebounds for a
double-double, while
Washington
chipped in
with 18 points and six boards.
Dennis
and
Ben
moved to the top of the KU single-season scoring record with 622 and
620, respectively.
Dennis
moved into first for single-season free throws made with 152,
eclipsing
Ben’s
148 set in the 2006-07 season.
SAT 3/7 — Gannon 80, KU 65 (PSAC Final) —
KU came up
short in its bid for the PSAC title falling to the PSAC West
champion Gannon University.
Dennis
scored 28 points and 10 rebounds.
Ben
knocked down three 3-pointers as he scored 14 points and had eight
boards. KU finished as the PSAC runner-up for the third time in
school history.

KU
lost to Millersville in the PSAC quarterfinals. The Golden Bears
were led by
Melissa McQuade (so. Pittsburgh/Shaler),
who scored a team-high 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds.
McQuade
was
10-of-11 from the free-throw line and 3-for-4 from 3-point range.
Rachel Wisemiller (jr. Hazleton/Hazleton)
scored 15 points and

FRI-SUN 3/6-8 — KU 9th/14 at ECAC Championships —
The KU women's bowling
team finished in ninth place at the ECAC Championship in New
Brunswick, N.J., after going 6-5 on the weekend. KU (84-43) was 4-2
on Saturday with wins over Norfolk State (874-861), Howard
(899-845), Coppin State (900-764) and Hampton (925-895), their two
losses were against Delaware State (845-908) and Maryland-Eastern
Shore (939-860). The Golden Bears beat Howard (4-3) and Hampton
(4-1) on Sunday, while dropping their matches with Delaware State
(789-645), Farleigh Dickinson (848-805) and Morgan State (767-649).
Steph
Ray (so. West Lawn/Wilson)
finished eighth individually with a 201 average over the weekend.

also scored three runs.
Mike Bucklin (jr. Shillington/Governor Mifflin)
pitched
five innings to receive the win.
Bucklin
held the Oilers to only five hits and four runs, while striking out
three.
Matt Patteson (fr. Cedar Crest/Lebanon)
pitched three innings of relief, allowing only one run and striking
out five.
Buletza
was
2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while
Mike Kacelowicz (jr. Orwigsburg/Blue Mountain)
scored two
runs and had two stolen bases.
WED 3/3 — KU 17, Bellarmine 0 —
KU
unleashed 17 runs in a shutout win over Bellarmine College at the
Savannah Invitational.
Adam Maini (jr. Macungie/Emmaus)
pitched
seven innings, scattering four hits while striking out eight
batters.
Lightcap
pitched two innings of hitless relief, striking out two.
Matt Kulbacki (jr. Hershey/Hershey)
was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, while driving in four runs and
scoring twice.
Brett Wigder (so. Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull)
was
3-for-5 with three RBIs and two doubles.
WED 3/3 — KU 9, California (Pa.) 8 —
Michael Dugan (so. Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City)
and KU rallied to beat California (Pa.) on Tuesday afternoon at the
Savannah Invitational.

FRI 3/6 — Armstrong Atlantic State 15, KU 5 —
KU's
four-game winning streak was snapped with a loss to Armstrong
Atlantic State at the Savannah Invitational.
Brad Stoudt (fr. Mertztown/Brandywine Heights)
was
2-for-2 and
Quigley
was
1-for-3 with two RBIs.
SAT 3/7 — Bellarmine 5, KU 3 —
The Golden
Bears dropped the final game of the Savannah Invitational to
Bellarmine.
Kulbacki
led KU,
going 3-for-3 with an RBI and one run scored.
Dugan
and
Wigder
also had
RBIs for KU.
Ryan Cassidy (jr. Langhorne/Archbishop Wood)
started for KU, pitching six innings of scoreless ball, but in the
seventh, he recorded just one out, allowing five runs to cross the
plate.
Cassidy

with nine strikeouts.

Four walks
in the bottom of the seventh gave the Golden Bears shutout win over
the University of Mary.

walk in the bottom of the seventh to plate
Golden,
who was the first of four free passes issued in the inning.
Arbogast
picked up
her fifth win of the season, pitching 5 2/3 innings in relief.
Arbogast
struck out
10 batters, while holding the University of Mary to just two hits.
Tedjeske
was
2-for-3 with a double.
THU 3/5 — KU 7, Edinboro 2 —
Denlinger
hit a home
run as KU defeated Edinboro at the Rebel Spring Games.
Schiavo
was
2-for-4 and
Fitzgerald
3-for-4.
Arbogast
struck out
eight over seven innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on four
hits to improve to 6-2 on the season.
THU 3/5 — Holy Family 4, KU 3 —
KU’s
seven-game winning streak was halted by a loss to Holy Family in the
Golden Bears final game at the Rebel Spring Games.
Cameron
was
2-for-3 with a double and
Morrison
had a
double.
SAT 3/7 — KU 3, Armstrong Atlantic State 2 —
The Golden
Bears swept a doubleheader at Armstrong Atlantic State.
Denlinger
tied the
Division II career home run record with a two-run blast in the first
inning. The home run is the 62nd of her career and ties her with
Jackie Aiken of Wisconsin-Parkside, who set the record from 1994-97.
Morrison
was a
perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles
Arbogast
picked up
the win going seven innings striking out five and scattering six
hits.
SAT 3/7 — KU 4, Armstrong Atlantic State 1 —
The Golden
Bears won the second game against Armstrong Atlantic State, with
Cameron
leading the way going 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Fitzgerald
and
Schiavo
each had two hits and
Fitzgerald
had an
RBI.
Glomb
pitched a complete-game four-hitter, striking out six and earning
the win.
