Slippery Rock 5
Darin Gorski (jr. Mount
Joy/Donegal) led KU to a win over Slippery
Rock in the PSAC tournament.
Gorski
struck out 15 batters in 6 2/3 innings of work.
Trent Mertz (so.
Kutztown/Kutztown) closed out the game by
striking out three over the final 2 1/3 innings.
Corey Buletza (so. St.
Claire/Pottsville) and
Mike Kacelowicz (jr.
Orwigsburg/Blue Mountain) both finished
3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Kacelowicz
homered in the sixth inning and stole two bases.
Buletza
also stole a base and added a triple.
James Quigley (so.
Bensalem/Bensalem) was 2-for-4 with two
RBIs and a walk.
Matt Kulbacki (jr.
Hershey/Hershey) scored twice, going
1-for-4 with a double.
Michael Dugan (so.
Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) also had a
hit and an RBI.
Shayne Houck (fr. Boyertown/Boyertown)
singled and scored a run.

Mercyhurst 9, KU 2 KU managed just two
runs on a two-run home run by
Jeff Kistle (so.
Sandyston, N.J./Kittatinny) in a loss to
Mercyhurst. Ryan
Cassidy (jr. Langhorne/Archbishop Wood)
started for KU, allowing six runs four earned on six hits and
three walks.
Mike Bucklin (jr. Shillington/Governor Mifflin)
pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless ball for KU.
Chad Lightcap (sr.
Boyertown/Boyertown), who scored on
Kistle's
home run,
Kacelowicz,

each had one hit.

over West Chester.
Cameron
hit a bases-loaded two-run single.
Katlin Arbogast (jr.
Ambler/Wissahickon) and
Mary Hoch (so.
Somerton/St. Hubert) combined to allow
only one run on seven hits.
Arbogast
pitched 3 1/3 innings.
Hoch
earned her 17th win of the season, pitching the
final 3 2/3 innings.
Kim Morrison (sr.
Newmartket, ONT/Sir William Mulock) and
Steph Denlinger
(sr. Harleysville/Souderton) each finished
2-for-3 with a run scored.

Denlinger
hit a grand slam to help KU win in five innings
over West Virginia Wesleyan.
Fitzgerald
had a two-run home run, finishing the game 2-for-2. Arbogast
pitched the complete game shutout, holding the Bobcats to three hits
and one walk.
Morrison finished 2-for-2, with an RBI and
two runs scored.
Schiavo
had two RBIs and scored a run. She singled and
walked in the game.
SUN 5/10 WEST
VIRGINIA WESLEYAN 9, KU 6 (8 innings)
Denlinger
finished 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two
doubles in KU's loss to West Virginia Wesleyan.
Cameron
went 3-for-5 with three RBIs.
Fitzgerald
had two hits and an RBI,
Krista Tedjeske (so.
Summerhill/Forest Hills) also added an
RBI. Arbogast
allowed three earned runs on six hits,
while striking out three.

2, WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN 0
Monica Glomb (so.
Mars/Mars) pitched four-hit gem in a win
over West Virginia Wesleyan in the NCAA Division II Atlantic
Region-2 title game.
Glomb
struck out five to earn her ninth win with the
complete-game shutout.
Hannum
had a two-RBI game-winning double.
Nicole Colineri (fr.
Scotch Plains,
N.J./Scotch
Plains-Fanwood) and
Cameron
scored on
Hannum's
double.

MILLERSVILLE 0 KU swept Millersville in
the first round of the NCAA Division II
Atlantic Regional. KU received the clinching win by
Lukas Labitsch (sr.
Bruck an der Mur, AUSTRIA), his second win
of the day.
Labitsch won 6-1 and 6-2 in the No. 3
singles spot.
Labitsch, paired with
Arpit Sharma (jr.
Kolkata, INDIA) in the No. 2 doubles, to
win 8-0.
Santiago Baquerizo (sr. Guayaquil, ECUADOR)
and Jonathan
Goulet (jr. Quebec, CANADA) won 8-1 at No.
3 doubles.
Kaushik Das (Assam, INDIA) and
Rubens Vianna (sr. Belo
Horizonte, BRAZIL) were on the winning end
in the No. 1 spot, with a 9-7 win.
Baquerizo
made quick work of his No. 2 singles match with a 6-0, 6-1 win.
FRI 5/8 KU 5,
Shaw 1
Labitsch
won the contest-clinching match for KU in a win
over Shaw University.
Labitsch
6-3, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Labitsch
teamed with
Sharma
for an 8-0 win in the No. 2 doubles spot. The No.
3 doubles team of
Baquerizo
and
Goulet
handed Shaw an 8-3 loss.
Andrew Torrealba (jr.
Pembroke Pines, Fla./Charles W. Flanagan)
made quick work in the No. 6 singles spot, with a 6-0, 6-2 win. At
No. 5 singles, Sharma recorded a 6-0, 6-2 win.

Nicole Devine
(Allentown/Allentown Central Catholic) and
Sabrina Arnaud (jr.
Pintendre, CANADA) dropped an 8-6 match in
the doubles spot in KU's loss to Slippery Rock. Also dropping a
close match were
Shir Suez (jr. Even Yehuda, ISREAL) and
Tess Wright (so. Lewisburg/Lewisburg), 8-4, at No. 3 doubles.
Outdoor Track and Field
THU-SAT 5/7-9
KU Women 7th/14 PSAC Championships KU
finished seventh at the PSAC Championships at Millersville.
Ashley Pinter (so.
Bethlehem/Liberty) had a second-place
finish in
the hammer throw, and met an NCAA Division II provisional mark with
a distance of 163-4. She also finished third in the shot put with a
distance of 40-10 1/4 and third in the discus (133-0).
Kelly Strickland (jr.
Bear, Del./Caravel Academy) and
Rachel Weigle (jr. Red
Lion/Red Lion) each cleared 11-1 3/4 in
the pole vault, sharing the height with two other vaulters. In a
jump off,
Strickland finished in fourth and
Weigle
in fifth.
Melissa Fellenbaum (fr.
Landisville/Hempfield) had a vault of 10-8
to finish seventh and
Alison Wise (jr.
Fivepointville/Garden Spot) tied for
eighth at 9-8. In the heptathlon,
Katie Colburn (so.
Hanover/South Western) finished in sixth
place with 3,989 points.
Kristin Cupido (so.
Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan)
finished fifth in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:33.00 and
seventh in the 10,000 (38:12.96).
Joanna Horstmann (sr.
Downingtown/Downingtown West) had a
provisional qualifying mark in the 800, finishing fifth with a time
of 2:13.41.
Horstmann also was eighth in the 1,500
(4:42.09).
Hailey Dell (sr. Saranac Lake, N.Y./Saranac Lake)
and Cristina
Reimer (so. Chester Springs/Downingtown East)
each placed in the 3,000 steeplechase, finishing fourth and fifth,
respectively.
Dell finished in 11:50.46, while
Reimers
time was 11:51.47. The womens 400 relay team,
comprised of
Samirah Barczynski (jr. Mohnton/Governor Mifflin),
Katie Quinn (jr.
Glenolden/Interboro),
Sarah Messner (so.
Maple Glen/Upper Dublin) and
Brooke Mathews (fr.
Reedsville/Indian Valley), finished fifth
in 48.95 seconds.
Rachel Hunte (fr.
Chester Springs/Downingtown East),
Horstmann,
Colburn
and
Jessica Schlecter (jr.
Chalfont/Central Bucks South) ran the
1,600 relay in 3:57.56 to finish seventh.
THU-SAT 5/7-9
KU Men 6th/13 PSAC Championships
Jason Rowles (jr.
Broomall/Marple Newtown) led the KU at the
PSAC Championships at Millersville.
Rowles
ran the 400-meter hurdles in 54.33 seconds to claim the top spot and
his first PSAC individual title.
Rowles
top placing helped the KU mens team finish in
sixth place out of 13 teams.
Justin Germani (so.
Birdsboro/Daniel Boone) and
T.J. Longmore (jr.
Lititz/Manheim Twp.) each earned All-PSAC
honors with their third-place finishes.
Germani
was third in the pole vault (15-7), ahead of
teammate Percell
Berry (fr. Norristown/Methacton), who
finished fifth (15-1).
Longmore
was third in the 110 hurdles, finishing in 14.66
seconds. Shane
Harvey (so. Pattenburg, N.J./North Hunterdon)
placed sixth in the 110 hurdles (15.05).
Kendel Dixon (jr.
Atglen/Octorara) finished fifth and hit an
NCAA provisional mark in the 400 with a time of 47.95.
Dixon
also helped the 1,600 relay team finish fifth. He
teamed up with
Matt Reightler (so. Bethlehem/Northampton),
Berry
and
Shaun Crump (jr.
Boyertown/Boyertown) to finish in 3:19.36.
Jack Iosue (fr.
Manheim/Manheim Central) rounded out the
place-winners for KU, finishing sixth in the javelin with a throw of
194-0.
