Baseball (34-17)

Last Week’s Action

         THU-SUN 5/14-5/17 — NCAA ATLANTIC REGIONALS (at Owls Field — West Lawn)  

       FRI 5/15 — WEST VIRGINIA STATE 4, KU 1 — Darin Gorski (jr. Mount Joy/Donegal) allowed four runs on seven hits and one walk in a loss to West Virginia State. He struck out nine. Chad Lightcap (sr. Boyertown/Boyertown) was 1-for-3 with a single. James Quigley (so. Bensalem/Bensalem) was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Matt Kulbacki (jr. Hershey/Hershey) had the only RBI with a sacrifice fly. Mike Dugan (so. Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) was 2-for-3 with two singles.

       SAT 5/16 — KU 9, CONCORD 4 — Adam Maini (jr. Macungie/Emmaus) pitched seven strong innings in a win over Concord. Maini allowed one earned run on seven hits and two walks. He struck out seven. Mike Kacelowicz (jr. Orwigsburg/Blue Mountain) led KU, going 4-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Kulbacki went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored. Dugan and Lightcap each scored a run and recorded RBIs. Shayne Houck (fr. Barto/Boyertown) was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.

       SAT 5/16 — WEST VIRGINIA STATE 6, KU 1 — Houck doubled and scored a run in a loss to West Virginia State. Dom Fantanarosa (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville) was 1-for-2 with a single. Ryan Cassidy (jr. Langhorne/Archbishop Wood) pitched five innings for KU, allowing three runs on six hits and a walk. Trent Mertz (so. Kutztown/Kutztown) pitched two scoreless innings to close out the game.

 

Softball (46-12-1)

Last Week’s Action

        FRI-SAT 5/15-5/16 — at NCAA Super Regional (at Lock Haven)

       FRI 5/15 — Lock Haven 1, KU 0 (9 innings) — Katlin Arbogast (jr. Ambler/Wissahickon) struck out seven and allowed only one run in a loss to Lock Haven. Steph Denlinger (sr. Harleysville/Souderton), Krista Cameron (sr. Formosa, ONT/Sacred Heart) and Maggie Reifsnyder (so. Philadelphia/Little Flower) each had hits for KU.

       SAT 5/16 — Lock Haven 2, KU 1 (11 innings) — Denlinger had a solo home run in a loss to Lock Haven. Arbogast allowed one run in four innings and struck out three. Monica Glomb (so. Mars/Mars) pitched seven innings, allowing only one run and striking out two.
