Cross Country

Last Week's Action

       FRI 10/02 - at the Paul Short Run - Women 1st place, Men 13th place - Kristin Cupido (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) finished in 21 minutes 38 seconds to place fifth. She now holds the Kutztown school record for fastest time on the course. Senior Cheryl Dingman (Lansdale/North Penn) crossed the finish line in 22:15 for 21st place. Freshman Becca Brandt (Cleona/Cedar Crest) finished in 22nd place at 22:20. Senior Steph Grimm (Fleetwood/Oley Valley) finished in 28th with a time of 22:29. Cristina Reimer (Chester Spring/Downingtown East) placed 35 at 22:36, Maureen Watson (Walnutport/Allentown Central Catholic) finished 43rd with a time of 22:46 and freshman Lindsay Smith (Bel Air, M.D./C. Milton Wright) had a time of 24:29. On the men's side, senior Ben Loht (Lewistown/Indian Valley) crossed the finish line in 25:50 for 35th place. Loht broke the Kutztown school record on the Lehigh course. Ryan Reich (Oley/Oley Valley) grabbed 38th place with a time of 25:55. Reich now holds the second fastest Kutztown time on the course. Junior Kevin Rodgers (Clifton Heights/Upper Darby) finished in 26:14 for 63rd place. Frank Nick (Kintersville/Palisades) had a time of 26:52 and freshman Harry Latchford (Enola/East Penn H.S.) finished in 27:43.

WED 9/30 - Mansfield 7, KU 2 - Lauren Solley (Oley/Oley Valley) scored her team-leading 11th goal of the season off of an assist from junior Kim Angstadt (Oley/Oley Valley). Emily Labowitz (Bala Cnywyd/Lower Merion) tallied her first career goal and Carrie Healey (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) recorded the assist. Sophomore keeper Emily Falko (Catasauqua/Catasauqua) made nine saves.

  SAT 10/03 -  Bloomsburg 5, KU 2  - Anne Waapu (Hastings, NEW ZEALAND) scored two goals as KU fell to Bloomsburg. Abbey Sheeler (Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights) and Katie Brautigan (Bernville/Tulpehocken) each had assists. Falko made nine saves in cage and Breah Kinney (Forty Fort/Wyoming Valley West) had a defensive save.

Women's Soccer (8-2-1, 6-1-1 PSAC East)

Last Week's Action

WED 9/30 - KU 3, Mansfield 0 - Junior Kelly Bushe (Neptune City, NJ/Neptune) scored a goal and had an assist to lead the KU offense. Freshman goalkeeper Alyssa Hackelberg (Randolph, NJ/Randolph) recorded her fourth shutout with five saves. Chelsea Bressler (Cleona/Annville-Cleona) and junior Jen Pyne (Wall Township, NJ/Wall) each had first half goals. Pyne scored her goal off of a header. 

SAT 10/03 - KU 2, Davis & Elkins 0 - Bressler scored the first goal of the game off an assist by Pyne. Bressler later recorded an assist on a goal by Molly Cooper (Palmyra/Palmyra). Hackelberg made six saves to record her third consecutive shutout and sixth of the season.

Women's Volleyball (8-6, 1-5 PSAC)

Last Week's Action

MON 9/28 - KU 3, Alvernia 0 - Katie Lutz (Greencastle/Greencastle Antrim) and freshman Brittany Harman (Hanover/Southwestern) led the KU offense with seven kills each. Freshman Dana Wright (Warminster/St. Basil Academy) had 19 assists. Junior Lindsay Confer (Wingate/Bald Eagle) finished with five digs and five kills. Sophomore Lindsey Smith (Hanover/Delone Catholic) had a team best eight digs for KU. The game was played in honor of the late Shannon Sullivan, a former KU standout. Junior Jamie Celia (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) was the recipient of the Shannon Sullivan Scholarship.

FRI 9/18 - KU 3, West Chester 0 - Wright finished with 20 assists and 13 digs. Confer finished with a team-high 10 kills and 12 digs. Sophomore Erin Kissling (York/Central York) finished with seven kills. Celia recorded a team-best 18 digs.
