Cross Country

Last Week’s Action

       SAT 10/24 — Women 2nd place at East Stroudsburg Invitational — Lindsay Smith (Bel Air, MD/C. Milton Wright) finished first for KU, placing 10th overall with a time of 20 minutes 47 seconds. Placing 11th and 12th place was Lauren Ayars (Ocean Twp. N.J./Ocean Twp.) (20:50) and Lindsey Ray (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) (20:57). Chelsea Ray (Barnegat, N.J./Barnegat) finished in 19th with a time of 21:38 and Jessica Frederick (Whitehall/Whitehall) placed 35th, with a time of 22:23.

Field Hockey (12-7, 4-4 PSAC East)

Last Week’s Action

       TUE 10/20 — KU 3, MILLERSVILLE 1 —  Anne Waapu (Hastings, NEW ZEALAND) started the scoring with a goal off of a penalty corner from Abbey Sheeler(Fleetwood/ Brandywine Heights). Carrie Healey (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) gave KU the winning edge when she scored off of a rebound. Kim Angstadt (Oley/Oley Valley) tacked on the final score for KU, Katie Brautigan (Bernville /Tulpehocken) recorded the assist. Emily Falko (Catasauqua/Catasauqua) made five saves in cage. Breah Kinney (Forty Fort/Wyoming Valley West) continued her strong defensive play with a defensive save in the second half.

       SAT 10/24 — C.W. Post 1, KU 0 (OT)  — Freshman goalkeeper Karly Waltman (Birdsboro/Twin Valley), making her second start of the season, made two saves in an overtime loss to C.W. Post.

 

 

Women’s Soccer (12-3-2, 7-2-1 PSAC East)

Last Week’s Action

       TUE 10/20 — West Chester 2, KU 0 — Alyssa Hackelberg (Randolph, NJ/Randolph), the reigning PSAC East Player of the Week, finished with four saves in a loss to West Chester.

       SAT 10/24 — KU 1, EAST STROUDSBURG 0 —  Chelsea Bressler (Cleona/Annville-Cleona) assisted  Molly Cooper (Palmyra/Palmyra) for the only goal in a shutout win over East Stroudsburg. Hackelberg tallied seven saves and recorded her 11th shutout of the season.

Women’s Volleyball (12-10, 5-9 PSAC)

Last Week’s Action

       FRI 10/23 — LOCK HAVEN 3, KU 2 —  Kelsey Nester (Catasauqua/Catasauqua) led KU with eight kills and one solo block in a loss to Lock Haven. Lindsay Confer (Wingate/Bald Eagle) added seven kills. Jamie Celia (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) had one service ace and a team-high 26 digs. Dana Wright (Warminster/St. Basil Academy) collected 22 assists and had 14 digs.

       SAT 10/24 — KU 3, EAST STROUDSBURG 0 — Katie Miller (Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown) finished with nine kills and two solo blocks in a win over East Stroudsburg. Confer led KU with 15 kills, which included six kills out of seven attempts in the first set. Wright tallied 23 assists and six digs, while Kimberlee Gomber (Washington/Washington) collected 13 assists and seven digs. Celia recorded three service aces and a team-best 15 digs.

Women’s Bowling (4-1)

Last Week’s Action

       SAT 10/24 — Kutztown Duals — KU had a 4-1 record in the five game baker matches to finish in second place. Kayla Stamm (Mohnton/Governor Mifflin) and Steph Ray (West Lawn/Wilson) were each named to the All-Tournament team.
