FALL SPORTS

Cross Country

Last Week's Action

       SAT 10/31 - Women 2nd, Men 8th at NCAA Atlantic Regional (at Mansfield) - Cristina Reimer (Chester Spring/Downingtown East) finished in 22 minutes, nine seconds for 14th place. Six seconds later, senior Maureen Watson (Walnutport/Allentown Central Catholic) finished, grabbing sixteenth place. Becca Brandt (Cleona/Cedar Crest) finished in 20th, crossing the finish line at 22:26. Keri Brown (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) placed 23rd with a time of 22:38, while Kristin Cupido (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) took 27 at 23:44. Cheryl Dingman (Lansdale/North Penn) placed 36th (23:05) Steph Grimm (Fleetwood/Oley Valley) claimed 46th (23:19). On the men's side, Ben Loht (Lewistown/Indian Valley) finished 33rd overall with a time of 33 minutes, five seconds to lead KU. Kevin Rodgers (Clifton Heights/Upper Darby) finished 43rd with a time of 33:45. Placing 63rd was sophomore Eli Weeks (Pottstown/Owen J. Roberts), with a time of 34:28. Freshmen Harry Latchford (Enola/East Penn) finished with a time of 34:59.

Women's Soccer (15-5-2)

Last Week's Action

       TUE 11/03 - KU 4,  EAST STROUDSBURG 1 - The KU women's soccer team got two assists from junior defender Chelsea Deeter (Langhorne/Neshimany) to defeat East Stroudsburg. Deeter assisted on goals by Chelsea Bressler (Annville/Annville-Cleona) and Raven Chiara (Monroe, NJ/Monroe Township) in the first three minutes of the game. Also scoring goals for KU were Jen Tice (Barnegat, N.J./Southern Regional) and Kelly Bushe (Neptune City, NJ/Neptune).

       FRI 11/06 - KU 1, California 0 - The KU women's soccer team used a late unassisted goal by Bressler to take down California (PA) in the PSAC semifinals. Alyssa Hackelberg (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) made seven saves, five in the first half and two in the second half, to record her 13th shutout of the season.

       SAT 11/07 - West Chester 2, KU 1 - Stephanie Barnett (Blandon/ Fleetwood) scored the only goal for KU in a loss to West Chester. Hackelberg made six saves in the contest.

Women's Volleyball (16-12, 8-11 PSAC)

Last Week's Action

       FRI 11/6 - KU 3, Shippensburg 0 - Lindsay Confer (Wingate/Bald Eagle Area) led the KU offense with 12 kills. She also collected two blocks and 10 digs. Dana Wright (Warminster/Saint Basil Academy) had 17 assists and 12 digs, while Kimberlee Gomber (Washington/Washington) added 13 assists. Jamie Celia (Douglassville/Daniel Boone) recorded 18 digs and Brianna Risch (Coatesville/Coatesville) had six blocks. Katie Miller (Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown) had seven kills without committing an error, she also had four blocks. Cali Snell (York/York Suburban) had seven kills and two blocks

       SAT 11/7 - Millersville 3, KU 0 - Miller led the KU offense with five kills and one block. Snell collected four kills and made five blocks. Celia recorded 18 digs and three service aces. Her team-leading 46 aces gives her 145 in her career, which ranks third all-time at KU. Erin Kissling (York/Central York) rounded out the offensive attack, with four kills and three blocks.

Men's Basketball

Last Week's Action

       THU 11/5 - Villanova 110, KU 84 (exhibition) - Julius Gray (Lincoln University/Oxford) scored 23 points and Stephen Dennis (West Chester/Henderson) added 21 points for KU in an exhibition with Villanova. Ryan Washington (Philadelphia/Wissahickon) finished with 11 points and seven rebounds. Ivory Wells (Philadelphia/Imhotep Charter) and Steve Coffey (Reading/Wilson) each chipped in with seven points.

Women's Swimming (8-1)

Last Week's Action

       SAT 11/7 - KU vs. Edinboro, Mansfield and Bloomsburg - Steph Jeppesen (Bethlehem/Liberty) and Jordan Shapiro (Trenton, N.J./Princeton) were triple winners as KU swept its three dual matches. Jeppesen placed first in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:07.79), 200 yard breaststroke, (2:28.00) and in the 200-yard IM (2:12.04). Shapiro placed first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.79), 200-yard breaststroke (2:28.00) and 200-yard IM (2:12.04). Heather Wolkom (Rumson, N.J./Rumson-Fair Haven) won the 500-yard freestyle (5:17.58) and Kerry Choplin (Thorofare, N.J./West Depford) won the 1000-yard freestyle (10:52.29).
