WINTER SPORTS

Men's Basketball (9-0)

Last Week's Action

       TUE 12/29 - KU 88, LINCOLN (PA) 76 - Ryan Washington (Philadelphia/Wissahickon) and Stephen Dennis (West Chester/Henderson) led the Golden Bears in a win over Lincoln. Washington scored 28 points, with 11 rebounds, five assists, five blocks and four steals. Dennis dropped 27 points, dished out eight assists and had six steals. Tamir Johnson (Philadelphia/Imhotep Charter) had 14 rebounds and added seven points.

       SAT 1/2 - KU 75, GANNON 59 - Washington set a career-high 31 points and had 13 rebounds in a win over Gannon. Dennis had 27 points, four assists and four rebounds. The win was the first in KU history against Gannon.

       SUN 1/3 - KU 98, CLARION 72 - Washington matched a career-high 31 points in a win over Clarion. Julius Gray (Lincoln University/Oxford)  scored 22 points, dished out eight assists and had five rebounds. Johnson scored a career-high 14 points and had eight rebounds, while Dennis had 12 points and six assists.

Women's Basketball (8-3)

Last Week's Action

       TUE 12/29 - KU69, Philadelphia 59 - Melissa McQuade (Pittsburg/Shaler) scored 19 points and pulled in seven rebounds in a win over Philadelphia. Vivian Melvin (Chichester/Chichester) had a career-high 17 points and had five rebounds. Guard Meredith Starr (Richmond, VA/Monocan) added 11 points and four assists.

       SAT 1/2 - Gannon 86, KU 68 - Melvin again set a career high in points with 18 points. She also brought down four rebounds and dished four assists. McQuaded had 16 points, five rebounds and five assists. Starr had 13 points and Rachel Wisemiller (Hazleton/Hazleton) finished with 12 points and three blocks.

       SUN 1/3 - KU 88, Clarion 77 - Wisemiller led KU with 17 points in a win over Clarion. Wisemiller made four 3-pointers for the second-straight game. Ashley Wood (Limerick/Spring-Ford) had a career-best 16 points. Wood dished out five assists and had three steals. Chauntelle Schroeder (Toronto, ONT./Mother Teresa) added 13 points and six rebounds.
