WINTER SPORTS

Men's Basketball (12-0)

Last Week's Action

TUE 1/5 - KU 76, Goldey-Beacom 74 - Stephen Dennis (West Chester/Henderson) made a game winning jumper with 1.8 seconds remaining and finished the game with 22 points. Tamir Johnson (Philadelphia/Imhotep Charter) had a season-high 17 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Julius Gray (Lincoln University/Oxford) added 14 points and five assists.

SAT 1/9 - KU 96, Edinboro 88 - Dennis again led all scorers in a PSAC crossover win. Dennis had 29 points and a season-high 15 rebounds and seven assists. Ryan Washington (Philadelphia/Wissahickon) added 27 points and 13 rebounds, while Gray had 24 points and five assists.

SUN 1/10 - KU 71, Lock Haven 66 - Dennis and Washington led KU to another PSAC crossover win. Dennis dropped 26 points and seven rebounds, while Washington scored 20 and had 12 rebounds.

Women's Basketball (9-4)

Last Week's Action

SAT 1/9 - Edinboro 66, KU 52 - Rachel Wisemiller (Hazleton/Hazleton) had a team-high 14 points in a loss to Edinboro. Melissa McQuade (Pittsburgh/Shaler) had 13 points and nine rebounds, Vivian Melvin (Chichester/Chichester) scored 12 points and had 6 rebounds.

SUN 1/10 - KU 71, Lock Haven 50 -  McQuade led all scorers with 18 points to help KU win. She also pulled down six rebounds, Melvin added 12 points and five rebounds. Ashley Wood (Limerick/Spring-Ford) and Chauntelle Schroeder (Toronto, ONT./Mother Theresa) each scored 10 points. Wisemiller added eight points, eight rebounds and five assists.

THU 1/7 - at Bob Mowerson Sprint Meet - Kerry Choplin (Thorofare, NJ/West Deptford) placed first in the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:51.30. Heather Wolkom (Rumson, NJ/Rumson-Fair Haven) followed in second with a time of 4:52.62 and Alex Crigler (Sinking Spring/Wilson) was third (4:58.67. Steph Jeppesen (Bethlehem/Liberty) finished first in the 50-meter breaststroke with a time of 36.64.

Wrestling (4-2)

Last Week's Action

WED 1/6 - Pitt-Johnstown 21, KU 10 - Tim Darling (Nazareth/Nazareth) and Kevin Bolinsky (Ashland/North Schuylkill) each won in their season debuts. Darling earned  a major decision, while Bolinsky won by decision. David Zeek (Newtown/Council Rock) won his decision.

SAT 1/9 - KU 45, MUHLENBERG 7 - Derek Schmelyun (New Oxford/Bermudian Springs), Joe Yavoich (Jonestown/Northern Lehigh) and Bolinsky all won by pin falls. Anthony Frost (West Reading/Wyomissing) won by decision in his bout.
