Kutztown finishes eighth overall in UMES Tournament
MILLSBORO, DE (November 22, 2009) –The
Kutztown University women's bowling team finished in eighth
place out of 20 teams at the University of Maryland-Eastern
Shore (UMES) Tournament after walking away on Sunday with two
wins and only one more loss. The Golden Bears' overall record
was eight-five in the three-day tournament.
Kutztown (22-16) started off their
final day with a 4-3 baker win over St. Francis. The
Golden Bears also won a baker match over Delaware State, 4-3. Kutztown lost to Adelphi
4-1 in their third
baker match of the day.
"At 22-16 and having played 73.6% of
our schedule thus far against Top 20 Ranked teams, we are in
good shape and improving every week," Head coach Joe Ambrose
said. "We are looking forward to the Thanksgiving Break, and
then getting back to working hard and looking for good things at
the Jeannette Lee Invitational in Virginia in a few weeks."
Kutztown returns to action when they
travel to Richmond, VA for the Jeanette Lee Invitational
sponsored by St. Paul's College on December 5-6.
