Kutztown 2, Shippensburg 1
BOXSCORE
SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. —
Heather Hoxter (sr. Glenmore/Octorara) scored the
game-winning goal with 3:03 left as the No. 1-ranked Kutztown University field
hockey team defeated No. 6 Shippensburg 2-1 Saturday in a Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference contest.
 Anne
Waapu (r-fr. Hastings, NEW ZEALAND) had the game-tying goal at
the 25:43 mark, making it 1-1 after Kristen Miller gave Shippensburg
the 1-0 lead 13:34 in.
Sam Flowers (sr.
Harleysville/Souderton) made six saves for the Golden Bears
(11-1, 6-1 PSAC). Lyndsay Butler (jr. Annandale/Summit)
recorded the assist on Hoxter’s goal.
The win completes a
regular season sweep of the Red Raiders (6-5, 3-5 PSAC) for the
Golden Bears.
KU returns to
University Field for a PSAC contest against Slippery Rock at 4 p.m.
Wednesday.
