KUTZTOWN, Pa. — Sam Flowers (sr. Harleysville/Souderton) and Melissa Watson (fr. Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) worked together to collect the shutout as the Kutztown University field hockey team defeated Seton Hill 3-0 Saturday.

KU (13-1) scored all three of its goals in the second half to secure the non-conference win.

Jessica DeNault (so. Hamburg/Hamburg) scored minutes into the second half to make it 1-0 and Whitney Stum (jr. Landisburg/West Perry) made it 2-0 at the 51:16 mark off an assist from Lyndsay Butler (jr. Annandale, N.J./Summit).

KU’s Carrie Healey (so. Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) made it 3-0 with 5:14 left, taking a pass from Monica Detweiler (fr. Souderton/Christopher Dock).

Watson made all five of the Golden Bears’ saves. KU outshot Seton Hill 19-5.

KU will travel to Slippery Rock Sunday for a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest. The game is set for 11 a.m. KU defeated Slippery Rock 7-0 at home Wednesday and will look for the season sweep Sunday.
