KUTZTOWN, Pa.
— Kelley Healey (jr. Toms River, N.J./Toms River North)
scored two goals and had two assists as the Kutztown University
field hockey team defeated Slippery Rock 7-0 Wednesday at University
Field.
Abbey
Sheeler (fr. Fleetwood/Brandywine Heights) also scored two goals
in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest.
KU goalkeepers
Sam Flowers (sr. Harleysville/Souderton) and Melissa Watson (fr.
Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) both had an easy day in goal
for No. 4 KU (12-1, 7-1 PSAC) as Slippery Rock (0-12, 0-8 PSAC) did
not collect a shot.
The Golden Bears
jumped out to a 2-0 lead on Healey’s two unassisted tallies and made
it 4-0 at half with unassisted goals from Jennifer Belfatti (jr.
Hatfield/Lansdale Catholic) and Sheeler.
Carrie Healey
(so. Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) and Lyndsay Butler (jr.
Annandale, N.J./Summit) each scored goals about a minute apart
to make it 6-0. Kelley Healey had the assist on each.
Alyssa Maltese
(so. Hackettstown, N.J./Hackettstown) found Sheeler for the
game’s final tally with 10:40 left.
Kelley Healey now
has 14 goals on the season for the Golden Bears and 10 assists,
totaling 38 points.
KU will travel to
Seton Hill for a non-conference matchup at 4 p.m. Saturday.
