KUTZTOWN, Pa.
— The Kutztown University field hockey team held the No. 1 team in
the nation Indiana (Pa.) University scoreless for more than 45
minutes, but two quick goals were all the Crimson Hawks needed to
beat the No. 4 Golden Bears 2-0 Saturday at University Field.
Jess
Frantz scored unassisted off a rebound in the 46th minute to make it
1-0 and a penalty stroke in the 55th minute by Sylvia Guerrieri made
it 2-0.
Indiana
(12-0) outshot KU (12-3) 15-7 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference crossover.
Emily Falko (fr. Catasauqua/Catasauqua) made six
saves for the Golden Bears and
Courtney Geibel (sr. Mifflintown/Juniata)
had three defensive saves.
The Golden Bears will host C.W. Post in a PSAC East contest at 7
p.m. Tuesday.
