KU defeats Seton Hill 11-9

KUTZTOWN, Pa. —
The Kutztown University women's lacrosse team defeated Seton Hill
University 11-9 at Keystone Field to pick up its second victory of
the season.
Carrie Healey
(so. Toms River, N.J./Toms River North)
had five goals and two assists for KU (2-6). On defense, Healey
had a game-high nine caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Alyson
Iovacchini had 10 saves picking up her second win of
the season.
Jennifer
Natalini (so. Pottstown/Pottsgrove)
had three goals for the Golden Bears, while
Amanda Steczak (jr.
Coatesville/Coatesville)
had two and
Janice Kinney (so. Spring City/Owen
J. Roberts)
had one.
The two squads
entered halftime tied at four. KU led 9-6 at the 8:58
point of the second half, but Seton Hill scored two unanswered
goals to cut the Golden Bears' lead to 9-8.
However,
both of KU's leading scorers on the day struck again, with
Natalini netting her third goal with 4:52 left and Healey recording her fifth tally with 1:44 left to run the score to 11-8.
Seton Hill's Stephanie Lazzaro scored a goal at the 1:09 mark,
bringing the final to 11-9.
Krista Ocilka was
the game's leading scorer, as she had six goals on 12 shots for the
Griffons (2-6)
KU splits the season
series with Seton Hill. The Golden Bears were defeated by
the Griffons 11-8 the their first meeting of the season.
The Golden Bears
will be on the road for its final two contests of the season, as
they
will travel to East Stroudsburg University on Monday, April 14, and
Georgian Court on Thursday, April 17.
