Rachel Mehaffey
(fr. West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) had two goals
and an assist for the Kutztown University women’s lacrosse team in a
20-7 loss to Bloomsburg University Thursday.
The Huskies scored 10 goals in each half
to pick up the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East victory.
KU (1-6, 0-4 PSAC East) jumped out to a
2-0 lead with goals from Mehaffey and
Leeann Pica (fr.
Levittown/Neshaminy), but Bloomsburg (5-1, 3-1 PSAC
East) went on an 8-0 run en route to a 10-4 halftime lead.
Pica scored again in the second half, on
an assist from Mehaffey, and
Carrie Healey (jr.
Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) scored before the
half ended.
Healey and Mehaffey scored again in the
second half, along with
Xiomara Marin
(sr. West Patterson, N.J./Passaic Valley).
KU will return to the field at noon
Saturday when the Golden Bears will travel to Indiana (Pa.) for a
PSAC crossover contest.
