ESU tops Golden Bears 22-11

KUTZTOWN, Pa. — The Kutztown University women's lacrosse team dropped its Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference contest 22-11 against East Stroudsburg on Sunday afternoon.

The Warriors (4-7, 3-3 PSAC East) an early 2-0 lead with a goal Morgan Knowles assisted by Jamie Wesztergom and an unassisted goal by Wesztergom.

Carrie Healey (jr. Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) put the Golden Bears (1-9, 0-6 PSAC East) on the board with a goal at the 18:24 mark, assisted by Jennifer Natalini (jr. Pottstown/Pottsgrove)

Healey netted an unassisted goal at the 10:54 mark of the first half to cut the ESU lead to 7-2. She scored the first three goals of the second half for KU, to finish the day with five goals and an assist.

Leeann Pica (fr. Levittown/Neshaminy) and Julie Rosenkaimer (fr. Lansdale/North Penn) combined to score three goals in the final 1:27 of the first half. Pica finished the game with three goals.

Rachel Mehaffey (fr. West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford) had a goal and an assist and Megan Schwar (Alpha, N.J./Phillipsburg) tallied one goal. The goal is Mehaffey's team-best 26 of the season.

The Golden Bears will return to action on Tuesday against Shippensburg for a 4 p.m. PSAC East contest at Keystone Field.
