INDIANA, Pa. —
The Kutztown
University women's lacrosse team dropped its Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference crossover with Indiana (Pa.) 13-8 Saturday.
Rachel Mehaffey (fr. West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford)
and
Carrie
Healey (jr. Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) each scored
three goals for the Golden Bears.
KU (1-7) and Indiana (2-5) went into
halftime tied at 6-6, but a 7-2 advantage for the Crimson Hawks
sealed the win.
Indiana jumped out to a 3-0 in the first
15 minutes, but five straight goals by KU in 10 minutes gave the
Golden Bears a 5-3 lead.
The Crimson Hawks scored three straight
to take a one goal lead, but with four seconds left in the half,
Healey netted her second goal of the game to tie it at 6-6.
Healey gave KU the lead 34 seconds into
the second half, but it didn't last as Indiana scored six straight
to run away with the win.
Leeann Pica (fr. Levittown/Neshaminy) had a goal and an
assist for KU, and
Janice Kinney (jr. Spring City/Owen J. Roberts) scored a
goal.
KU will return to the field
at 4 p.m. Wednesday when the Golden Bears travel to West Chester for
a PSAC East contest.
