SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. —
The Kutztown University women's lacrosse team scored five straight
goals in a span of 12 minutes, but it wasn't enough to top
Shippensburg in an 11-9 loss Wednesday.
Carrie
Healey (jr. Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) finished with
two goals and three assists in the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference East contest.
Two of her assists and one of her goals
came during KU's 5-0 run. KU (1-3, 0-2 PSAC East) trailed 10-4 with
21:03 left a five-goal run cut it to 10-9 with 6:33 left.
Shippensburg scored again a minute later
to seal the win.
Rachel Mehaffey (fr. West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford)
and
Julie Rosenkaimer (fr. Lansdale/North Penn) each had hat
tricks for KU, and Mehaffey had an assist.
Amanda Steczak (sr. Coatesville/Coatesville) also scored a
goal for KU.
Shippensburg and KU combined for six
goals in the first half with the Lady Raiders taking a 4-2 lead into
halftime. After the break, the offense opened up as each team netted
seven goals.

Erin
Myers (Harrisburg/Central Dauphin) recorded 17 saves in the
game.
KU will return home for a PSAC crossover
matchup against Slippery Rock at 1 p.m. Saturday.
