WEST CHESTER, Pa. —
The Kutztown University women's lacrosse team dropped its Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference East contest with West Chester 25-7 on
Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Rams (7-2, 5-0 PSAC East)
jumped out to a 4-0 lead before
Rachel Mehaffey (fr. West Deptford, N.J./West Deptford)
got the Golden Bears (1-8, 0-5 PSAC East) on the board at the 25:04
mark.
Mehaffey added back-to-back goals to
conclude the first half scoring for KU, which was trailed 16-3 at
the break.
In the second half, Mehaffey added two
more goals to finish with five in the game, all of which were
unassisted.
Leeann Pica (fr. Levittown/Neshaminy) scored a late goal,
her 11th of the season.
Ally Brehm (fr. Carlisle/Carlisle) finished out the KU
scoring with an unassisted goal.
West Chester outshot KU 45-18 and held
the advantage in groundballs 28-13.
The Golden Bears will return to action
on Saturday when they host East Stroudsburg at 1 p.m. at
Keystone Field.
