Edinboro wins big in Game 3, eliminates Mansfield

KUTZTOWN, Pa. — After having played back-to-back extra-inning games, the Edinboro Fighting Scots made their third straight game of the day an easy one.

Dana Webb and Aimee Sisson each homered for Edinboro as the Fighting Scots won 9-1 over Mansfield in five innings in Game 3 of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference first round tournament at North Campus Field.

Edinboro (26-18), the second seed out of the West, scored seven runs in the bottom of the third to take a 9-0 lead over Mansfield (14-20), the No. 3 seed out of the Central.

Beth Mullins pitched all five innings for Edinboro, picking up the win. She held Mansfield to one run on three hits. She struck out two.

In all, the Fighting Scots played 22 innings Friday and have another seven innings scheduled for Saturday as they will face No. 1 seeded Kutztown in a rematch at 11 a.m. If Edinboro wins Game 4, a fifth game will start at 1 p.m. to decide which team advances to the PSAC Championship round on May 3.
