Denlinger
powers KU to doubleheader sweep of West Chester
WEST CHESTER,
Pa. —
Steph Denlinger (sr. Harleysville/Souderton)
continued her tear through the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference Eastern Division with two more homers during a
doubleheader sweep of West Chester Tuesday.
Denlinger totaled four RBIs in the doubleheader, as the Kutztown
University softball team (32-6, 8-0 PSAC East) won both games by a
score of 3-1. After hitting two home runs on Monday against
Shippensburg and another two Tuesday, Denlinger has 16 on the season and 72 in her
career.
She already owns the Division II record for home runs in a career
and she moved into eighth place on the all-time collegiate record
books as the Division I record for home runs is 90.
The Golden Bears, who have won 21 of their last 22 games, are now
four games ahead of West Chester (21-9, 3-3 PSAC East) and
Shippensburg (15-13, 3-3 PSAC East) for first place in the division.
KU will return to the field at 3 p.m. Friday for a PSAC East
doubleheader at Millersville (18-17, 1-7 PSAC East). The Golden
Bears swept the Marauders 3-2 and 3-0 at home on March 25.

Denlinger’s two homers help Arbogast collect 16th win
WEST CHESTER, Pa.

Steph Denlinger (sr. Harleysville/Souderton)
hit a two-run homer in the third and a solo blast in the fifth to
lead the Golden Bears to a 3-1 win over West Chester in the first
game of their doubleheader.
Denlinger finished 3-for-4, with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Katlin Arbogast (jr. Ambler/Wissahickon)
pitched all seven innings to collect the win. She allowed one
unearned run on five hits and no walks. She struck out seven for her
16th victory of the season.
Krista Cameron (sr. Formosa, ONTARIO/Sacred Heart)
finished 2-for-4 at the plate, while
Kim Morrison (sr. Newmarket, ONTARIO /Sir William Mulock)
singled and scored a run.
Maria Schiavo (jr. Old Forge/Old Forge),
Sara Golden (fr. Souderton/Souderton),
Heather Hannum (fr. Hatboro/Hatboro-Horsham),
Krista Tedjeske (so. Summerhill/Forest Hills)
and

Late-inning heroics with two outs helped the Golden Bears win 3-1 in
the second game of their doubleheader with West Chester Tuesday.
A day after
having walk-off homers end both games against the Shippensburg Lady
Raiders, KU scored two runs in the top of the ninth to complete its
sweep of West Chester.
Steph Denlinger (sr. Harleysville/Souderton)
and
Krista Cameron (sr. Formosa, ONTARIO/Sacred Heart)
hit back-to-back two-out RBI singles to give KU the 3-1 lead.
Maggie Reifsnyder (so. Philadelphia/Littleflower)
and
Maria Schiavo (jr. Old Forge/Old Forge)
walked to start the
seventh-inning rally.
Cameron opened the scoring in the game,
hitting a solo home run in the fourth to give KU a 1-0 lead.
West Chester struck back in the bottom
of the sixth, tying the game at 1.
Mary Hoch (so. Somerton/St. Hubert)
started for KU, pitching five innings, allowing one run on three
hits and a walk. She struck out five.
Monica Glomb (so. Mars/Mars)
picked up the win in relief — her eighth of the season — pitching
two innings, allowing just one hit. She struck out three.
Cameron led KU, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored.
Reifsnyder also finished with two hits.
Michelle McGinty (fr. Warminster/Archbishop Wood),
Krista Tedjeske (so. Summerhill/Forest Hills)
and Schiavo also recorded hits for KU.
