Golden Bears take two from East Stroudsburg Friday
KUTZTOWN, Pa.
— The Kutztown University softball team swept its Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference East doubleheader with East Stroudsburg
University Friday at North Campus Field.
The Golden Bears (28-6, 4-0 PSAC East)
won 5-0 in the first game
against East Stroudsburg (12-9, 1-3 PSAC
East)
and added a 9-5 victory in their second game.
Steph Denlinger (sr. Harleysville/Souderton)
drove
in four runs on the day, breaking the PSAC record for RBIs in a
career. She now has 205.
KU has now won 24 of its last 26
games, including seven straight.
The Golden Bears will return to the
field at 2:30 p.m. Monday for a PSAC East doubleheader against
Shippensburg at North Campus Field. The game will be available via
audio Webcast on the Golden Bear Network.

Arbogast shuts down Warriors, strikes out nine in 5-0 win
KUTZTOWN, Pa.

Katlin Arbogast (jr. Ambler/Wissahickon)
pitched a complete-game shutout to lead the Golden Bears to a 5-0
win in the first game of their doubleheader with East Stroudsburg
Friday.
Arbogast struck out nine, allowing four baserunners on two hits and
two walks. She had a no-hitter through 5 1/3 innings, but two
singles in the sixth gave the Warriors two baserunners. Arbogast
forced a groundout to first to end the inning.
Krista Cameron (sr. Formosa, ONTARIO/Sacred Heart)
hit a two-RBI double to highlight KU’s four-run fourth.
Maria Schiavo (jr. Old Forge/Old Forge)
and
Kim Morrison (sr. Newmarket, ONTARIO /Sir William Mulock)
led off the inning reaching on back-to-back errors. After
Steph Denlinger (sr. Harleysville/Souderton)
singled in Schiavo and
Ashley Fitzgerald (sr. Kitchener, ONTARIO /Resurrection)
walked, Cameron doubled to right to make it 3-0.
Nicole Colineri (fr. Scotch Plains, N.J./Scotch Plains-Fanwood),
who was pinch running for Fitzgerald, scored on a single by
Krista Tedjeske (so. Summerhill/Forest Hills).
Fitzgerald added a solo home run in the sixth inning to make it 5-0.
Denlinger breaks PSAC RBI record with three in 9-5 win
KUTZTOWN, Pa.

Steph Denlinger (sr. Harleysville/Souderton)
knocked in three runs on two hits as the Golden Bears defeated East
Stroudsburg 9-5 in the second game of their doubleheader Friday.
Denlinger singled in a run in the first
inning and doubled in another two in the fifth, helping the Golden
Bears jump out to a 7-3 lead.
Her three RBIs gives her 205 for her
career, breaking a PSAC record originally held by Erica Miller, of
Bloomsburg (204, 1998-01).
Delinger finished 2-for-4 with two runs
scored.
Krista Cameron (sr. Formosa, ONTARIO/Sacred Heart),
Maria Schiavo (jr. Old Forge/Old Forge)
and
Ashley Fitzgerald (sr. Kitchener, ONTARIO /Resurrection)
also had multiple hits for the Golden Bears.
Cameron had three hits, finishing a home
run shy of the cycle. She also had two RBIs and a run scored.
Schiavo scored two runs and Fitzgerald
had an RBI and a run scored.
Krista Tedjeske (so. Summerhill/Forest Hills)
also had two RBIs, with a sacrifice in the third and a single in the
sixth.
Mary Hoch (so. Somerton/St. Hubert)
picked up the win, pitching 3 2/3 innings in relief, and
Katlin Arbogast (jr. Ambler/Wissahickon)
earned the save, pitching the final two innings.
