Morrison, Denlinger help Golden Bears win 5-2 over Shepherd Sunday
SALEM, W.Va.

Steph Denlinger (sr. Harleysville/Souderton) had a two-RBI hit
and
Kim Morrison (sr. Newmarket, ONTARIO /Sir William Mulock)
hit a home run as the Kutztown University softball team defeated Shepherd
University 5-2 Sunday in the final game of the Salem Invitational.
Denlinger knocked in two runs during a three-run sixth inning, pushing the
Golden Bears’ lead to 5-0. KU (24-6) opened the game with two runs in the first.
Morrison finished 2-for-3 with a single, a walk and a homer.
Katlin Arbogast (jr. Ambler/Wissahickon)
led
KU on the mound, pitching six innings to collect her 12th win of the season.
Mary Hoch (so. Somerton/St. Hubert)
recorded the save pitching in the top of the seventh.
KU
will return home with a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East doubleheader
with Millersville at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Cameron
propels KU to victory over Wheeling Jesuit
SALEM, W.Va.

Krista Cameron (sr. Formosa, ONTARIO/Sacred Heart)
hit
a two-run double to lead the Golden Bears to a 4-1 win over Wheeling Jesuit
Saturday at the Salem Invitational.
Wheeling Jesuit pitcher Brandi Jester held the Golden Bears (23-6) to just two
hits, but the Golden Bears still managed four runs.
Cameron’s two-RBI double in the fifth fueled a three-run inning. Two errors
helped KU plate two more runs.
Mary Hoch (so. Somerton/St. Hubert)
started for KU, pitching 4 2/3 innings, earning the no-decision.
Monica Glomb (so. Mars/Mars)
pitched 2 1/3 innings of relief, picking up the win for KU.

Three homers fuel
KU's 5-0 shutout of Fairmont State

— Three home runs and the pitching of
Katlin Arbogast (jr. Ambler/Wissahickon)
led
the Kutztown University softball team to a 5-0 win over Fairmont State Saturday
at the Salem Invitational.
Steph Denlinger (sr. Harleysville/Souderton)
,
Ashley Fitzgerald (sr. Kitchener, ONTARIO /Resurrection)
and
Heather Hannum (fr. Hatboro/Hatboro-Horsham)
each had home runs for KU.
Denlinger hit a solo shot in the fifth inning, and Fitzgerald and Hannum both
fueled a four-run sixth with their homers.
Laura Kelley (fr. Stafford, Va./North Stafford)
finished 3-for-3 with three singles for KU.
Arbogast picked up the win on the mound, going seven innings for KU. She held
Fairmont State to four hits and one walk. She struck out five.

KU FALLS TO WEST VIRGINIA
STATE 4-2
SALEM, Va. —
The Kutztown University softball team's 11 game win streak came to a halt in a
4-2 loss to West Virginia State Friday night at the Salem Invitational.
The Golden Bear (21-6) offense was kept in check all night
against Diana Humphreys, who took the loss the when the two teams met
last week.
Maria Schiavo (jr.
Old Forge/Old Forge) led the offense, going 2-for-4 with an RBI, while
Krista Tedjeske
(so. Summerhill/Forest Hills) was 2-for-3.
The Yellow Jackets broke the scoreless game with
three runs in the fifth and added their last last run in the sixth. The Golden
Bears answered with two runs in their half of the sixth, but were unable to get
any closer in their final at-bats.
Monica Glomb (so.
Mars/Mars) took the loss, despite holding the Yellow Jackets to only
three runs and striking out eight.
The Golden Bears will play Fairmont State at 3 p.m.
followed by Wheeling Jesuit at 5 p.m. on Saturday at the Salem Invitational.

GOLDEN BEARS USE LONG BALL IN
9-6 WIN
SALEM, Va. —
The Kutztown University softball team used tied and took the lead with two-run
home runs in their 9-6 win over Alderson-Broaddus in the first game of the Salem
Invitational on Friday afternoon.
Krista Cameron (sr.
Formosa, ONT/Sacred Heart) tied the game 6-6 with a two-run home run,
her second of the game.
Ashley Fitzgerald
(sr. Kitchener, ONT/Resurrection) gave the Golden Bears (21-5) an 8-6
lead with a home run, scoring
