Miller and Celia named to PSAC East second team
: Senior Katie Miller and junior Jamie Celia was named to the all-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) East second team. Celia and Miller played key roles in helping the Golden Bears finish with 16 victories and in second place in the PSAC East. Full Story

Shippensburg ousts Kutztown in PSAC quarterfinal: The Kutztown University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Shippensburg Tuesday night in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference quarterfinal. The visiting Red Raiders edged KU, 26-24, 19-25, 25-19 and 25-23. Full Story

Golden Bears drop regular-season finale to Millersville: The Kutztown University women's volleyball team was handed a 3-0 loss to Millersville in the PSAC regular-season finale on Saturday afternoon. Kutztown beats Bowie State: Cali Snell paced the Golden Bears with eight kills in their 3-0 victory over Bowie State. Overall, Kutztown finished with 34 kills. Erin Kissling and Katie Miller combined for 11 kills. The Golden Bear freshman tandem of Dana Wright and Kimberlee Gomber registered 18 and 10 assists, respectively. Kutztown can't keep win streak alive against Lock Haven: The Kutztown women's volleyball team could not keep their three-game streak alive, losing to Lock Haven in a 3-2 decision. In the five-game battle, the Golden Bears won the first two games, 25-15, and 29-27 but could not come up for one more win, losing the next three games 25-18, 29-27, 25-22, 15-11. FULL STORY

Kutztown shuts out rival Shippensburg 3-0: Kutztown women's volleyball shutout Shippensburg 3-0 in front of a homecoming crowd of 450. The Golden Bears defeated their PSAC East rival 25-15, 31-29 and 25-16. The second game marked Kutztown's highest score of the season. The win extends Kutztown's winning streak to three. FULL STORY

Kutztown downs West Chester: The Kutztown University volleyball team defeated West Chester University, 3-0, in a spirited match at Keystone Arena Friday night. KU downs Alvernia 3-0: The Kutztown University volleyball team won 3-0 at Pine Grove Middle School. The match was a fund-raiser for the Shannon Sullivan Memorial Scholarship at both Kutztown University and Pine Grove High School, where Sullivan was an all-state performer. FULL STORY

Kutztown loses to Lock Haven:
During its 3-0 setback to Lock Haven, the Golden Bears were paced by the trio of Lindsay Confer, Katie Lutz and Lindsey Smith. Confer finished with five kills. Lutz added four kills and three blocks. Smith recorded 12 digs for the Golden Bears (6-6 overall, 0-5 PSAC).Full Story

The Kutztown University volleyball team will battle Alvernia University Monday, September 28 at Pine Grove Middle School beginning at 7 p.m. The match is a fund-raiser for the Shannon Sullivan Memorial Scholarship at both Kutztown University and Pine Grove High School, where Sullivan was an all-state performer. Kutztown displayed plenty of positives in Erie: Despite dropping a trio of matches in Erie last weekend, the Golden Bears (6-4 overall) battled hard and showed flashes of brilliance. Kutztown loses to Gannon: The Golden Bears (6-4 overall, 0-3 PSAC) fell 25-20, 25-12, 25-20. Leading Kutztown were Katie Lutz and Brianna Risch, who combined for 11 kills. Lutz had a team-high six kills while Risch contributed five. Dana Wright finished with 12 assists and Jamie Celia added 10 digs for Kutztown.Full Story

Kutztown falls to Mercyhurst and Edinboro: The Golden Bears (6-3 overall) lost to Mercyhurst, 25-19, 25-20, 25-12. Kutztown then fell to Edinboro, 25-15, 28-26, 25-17 despite six kills and three blocks from Cali Snell. Lindsay Confer contributed five kills and seven digs against the Fighting Scots. Also turning in strong efforts against Edinboro was Katie Miller, Brianna Risch and Lindsey Smith. Full Story

Golden Bears hit the road for western Pa. swing: Kutztown begins its first round of Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover matches. KU will play two matches at Mercyhurst on Friday afternoon. KU battles host Mercyhurst at noon and then Edinboro at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, the Golden Bears will visit Gannon University for a noon start. KU dominates the Kutztown Challenge, winning all 3 matches:
The Golden Bears closed the Kutztown Challenge Tournament Saturday against New York Institute of Technology, (NYIT), advancing to a 6-1 record and winning all three matches within the tournament. Dana Wright contributed 23 assists and 10 digs for the 3-0 win Saturday. Full Story

Kutztown defeats Mercy: Kutztown had 24 blocks during its 3-0 victory over Mercy College Saturday morning during the KU Challenge. The Golden Bears won the match, 25-11, 25-17, 25-23. Seven KU players had at least one block led by Brianna Risch, who had six. Kelsey Nester added eight kills and Katie Lutz contributed seven for KU, which won its third consecutive match. Full Story

Kutztown defeats Felician in opening round of KU Challenge: Lindsey Confer, Brianna Risch and Katie Miller each finished with a team-high six kills to help Kutztown defeat Felician, 3-0. The freshman duo of Dana Wright and Kimberlee Gomber combined for 29 assists. Wright had a team-high 18 assists. Katie Lutz finished with five kills. Lindsey Smith  had four service aces to lead Kutztown. Wright and Jamie Celia added seven digs each to complete a well-balanced effort for the Golden Bears. Full Story

Golden Bears looking for back-to-back tournament domination: The Kutztown University volleyball team will host their second consecutive tournament, the Kutztown Challenge, on Friday September 11 and Saturday September 12 at Keystone Arena. Kutztown aces first road challenge by defeating Lincoln (Pa.): Fueled by 29 service aces, Kutztown defeated Lincoln (Pa.), 3-0 Tuesday night. The Golden Bears won 25-5, 25-14, 25-11. Lindsey Smith had a career-high 12 service aces and Dana Wright added 10 assists for KU. Katie Miller and Kelsea Ashworth had five kills each for the Golden Bears in victory. Full Story

Philadelphia hands KU first loss of season: The KU women’s volleyball team tipped off their season this weekend by hosting the Kutztown Classic Tournament. After achieving the program’s 500th career win earlier in the day, the Golden Bears lost its final match of the tournament with a score of 3-1 to Philadelphia University. Full Story

Kutztown Classic has strong field this weekend: In what promises to be an outstanding weekend of exciting volleyball, Kutztown welcomes four teams to campus that each won 20 or more matches last season highlighted by Elizabeth City State University, who participated in the 2008 NCAA Division II tournament.
