Match 1: West Virginia Wesleyan 3, Kutztown 2
(21-30, 30-22, 29-31, 30-20, 15-11)
INDIANA, Pa. — The Kutztown University
women’s volleyball team lost to West Virginia Wesleyan College
in the first match at the IUP Invitational Friday evening.
KU was up 2-1 after three games, winning
game one 30-21 and game three 31-29. The Bobcats won games two
and four, 30-22 and 30-20, before winning the decisive game five
15-11.
Lindsay Confer (fr. Bald
Eagle/Wingate) led KU's offense with 19
kills. She added nine digs. Erin Waters (sr.
Waymart/Wayne) had 13 kills and four
blocks. Katie Miller (so. Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown) notched 11 kills.
Austin Kinney (jr. Landisville/Hempfield) dished out 45 assists and had nine digs.
Catie Leahy (fr. Collegeville/Perkiomen Valley) led the
defense with 12 digs.
