EAST STROUDSBURG, Pa. — The Kutztown University women’s volleyball team moved to 5-0 with two wins Saturday in the final day of the Raider Classic at Shippensburg.

KU, which opened the season 5-0 for the fourth consecutive year, rallied from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Anderson (S.C.) 3-2 Saturday afternoon and shut out St. Rose 3-0 Saturday night.

Against Anderson (2-6), Nicole Biuso (sr. Centereach, NY/Ward Melville) had a school-record 46 digs, breaking Laura Hallman's record of 38 set in 2002. Biuso also broke the career record for digs, finishing the match with 1,485 digs. Biuso also had four service aces.

Erin Waters (sr. Waymart/Wayne) led the Golden Bears with 21 kills and nine blocks, while Austin Kinney (jr. Landisville/Hempfield) had 49 assists and 12 digs.

Jamie Celia (fr. Douglassville/Daniel Boone) added 13 digs and two service aces, and Lindsay Confer (fr. Wingate/Bald Eagle) and Kaitlyn Cunliffe (fr. Levittown/Pennsbury) had 11 and nine kills, respectively.

Anderson won 31-29 and 30-24 to jump out to a 2-0 lead, but KU prevented the three-game sweep  with a hard-fought 33-31 win in Game 3 and forced a fifth game with a 30-24 win in Game 4. In the fifth game, KU cruised to a 15-5 win.

KU concluded the Raider Classic by sweeping St. Rose (4-1) with wins of 30-25, 30-22 and 30-22.

Waters had 12 kills and four blocks and Kinney added another 43 assists. Confer finished with 10 kills and Celia had 10 digs and four service aces.

Kelsey Nester (fr. Catasauqua/Catasauqua) recorded eight kills and two blocks.

KU will return home at 7 p.m. Tuesday for a match against Philadelphia University.
