PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — The Kutztown University women’s volleyball team lost in straight sets to Philadelphia University Wednesday at the Gallagher Center.

Philadelphia (1-0) won 25-17, 25-19 and 25-22 to hand the Golden Bears (2-2) the loss.

Katie Miller (jr. Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown) led KU with 11 kills and a block. Jamie Celia (so. Douglassville/Daniel Boone) had 24 assists and seven digs.

Lindsey Smith (fr. Hanover/Delone Catholic) had 13 digs and a service ace.

The Golden Bears will travel to Indiana, Pa., for the IUP Tournament Friday and Saturday. KU will play in four matches, starting with Point Park at noon Friday and IUP at 7 p.m. Saturday, KU will compete against Salem International at 10 a.m. and Lake Erie at 5 p.m.
