WEST CHESTER, Pa.
— The Kutztown University women's volleyball team started off
the West Chester Tournament with a thrilling 3-2 set victory over
Holy Family early Friday afternoon, with a 15-10 game five clincher.
After dropping the
first set 25-22, the Golden Bears (7-3, 0-1 PSAC) rallied in the
next two sets with wins of 27-25 and 25-13 before losing the fourth
set to force a tiebreaker.
Katie Miller (jr. Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown) led the
offense with 10 kills and three blocks.
Lindsay Confer (so. Wingate/Bald Eagle Area) added 9
kills and
Kelsey Nester (so. Catasauqua/Catasauqua) had 7.
Jamie Celia (so. Douglassville/Daniel Boone) had 33 assists
and
Lindsey Smith (fr. Hanover/Delone Catholic) had 20 digs.

WEST CHESTER, Pa.
— In the second match of the day, the Golden Bears downed
District of Columbia in three straight sets.
Lindsay Confer (so. Wingate/Bald Eagle Area) and
Katie Miller (jr. Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown) were the
offensive leaders with 11 and eight kills, respectively. Chipping in
with 7 kills was
Danielle Ozment (so. Reading/Holy Name).
Setter
Jamie Celia (so. Douglassville/Daniel Boone) had 27 assists
and
Lindsey Smith (fr. Hanover/Delone Catholic) had 13 digs.
