KUTZTOWN, Pa. — The Kutztown University women's volleyball team was edged out by Shippensburg 3-2 Saturday afternoon in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East contest at Keystone Hall.

The Golden Bears (15-15, 4-7 PSAC East) and Red Raiders (19-15, 6-4 PSAC East) exchanged wins in each of the first four sets. KU took the first and third set by scores of 25-14 and 25-20. Shippensburg won the second set 25-19 and the fourth 27-25 before taking the fifth set tiebreaker 15-6.

Brittni Speck (fr. Hesston/Huntingdon) led the offense with 10 kills and three blocks. Cali Snell (fr. York/York Suburban) was solid at the net with eight blocks to go with her seven kills.

Jamie Celia (so. Douglassville/Daniel Boone) dished out 34 assists and had nine digs, and five service aces. Lindsey Smith (fr. Hanover/Delone Catholic) had 25 digs and two aces, while Kelsey Nester (so. Catasauqua/Catasauqua) added nine kills and 21 digs.

The Golden Bears will wrap up the season as they host Millersville at 11 a.m. next Saturday for a PSAC East match at Keystone Hall.
