KU falls to Mercyhurst and Edinboro

ERIE, PA (September 18, 2009) – The Kutztown University volleyball team lost a pair of 3-0 matches to host Mercyhurst and Edinboro in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) crossover contests Friday afternoon. (MERCYHURST BOXSCORE)    (EDINBORO BOXSCORE)

The Golden Bears (6-3 overall) lost to Mercyhurst, 25-19, 25-20, 25-12. Kutztown then fell to Edinboro, 25-15, 28-26, 25-17 despite six kills and three blocks from Cali Snell (York/York Suburban). Lindsay Confer contributed five kills and seven digs against the Fighting Scots. Also turning in strong efforts against Edinboro was Katie Miller (Elizabethtown/Elizabethtown), Brianna Risch (Coatesville/Coatesville) and Lindsey Smith (Hanover/Delone Catholic).

Miller had five kills and two blocks. Risch had four blocks and Smith had 14 digs.

Kutztown concludes its western Pennsylvania swing with a noon match at Gannon University on Saturday. The KU-Gannon contest will be broadcast live over the B2 Network. Fans can watch the match for free by visiting http://www.b2livetv.com/partner_members.asp?id=85.
