McQUADE LEADS KU OVER LINCOLN

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. — Melissa McQuade (so. Pittsburgh/Shaler) scored 27 points to lead Kutztown to a 75-48 win over Lincoln University in non-conference women's basketball action Tuesday night.

McQuade added eight rebounds and five steals for KU, which improves to a perfect 4-0 on the season.

Rachel Wisemiller (jr. Hazleton/Hazleton) scored 16 points, Katie Dovey (jr. Willow Hill/Fannett-Metal) added 12 and Chauntelle Schroeder (jr. Toronto, Ontario/Mother Teresa Catholic) notched 10.  Meredith Starr (so. Richmond, Va./Monacan) dished out a career-high 13 assists.

Sharay DuBose scored 14 points to lead the Lions (1-5).

Tied at 10-10 early in the first half, Kutztown went on a 24-2 run over a 10-minute span to take command.  McQuade scored 13 points during the run. 

The Lions pulled to within 16 early in the second half, but from there, KU steadily pulled away.

KU's 4-0 start is its best since starting the 2001-02 season 5-0.  The Golden Bears return to action next Wednesday at Columbia Union.  Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
